This is the question posed by an Oregon newspaper in which CHL holders are currently losing with the majority of votes wanting CHL holders names posted.
Please cut and paste the link into your browser and you too can vote about 1/2 way down the page in the right hand column. Let's help fellow CHL holders out.
It's important to cut and paste the link and not just to click on it.

Numbers are low and nearly even. If everyone who follows this forum regularly votes, the outcome will be heavily skewed in our favor.

All of these polls are bogus and stupid. You can back up a page and vote as many times as you want. Not exactly a fair voting mechanisms.
Besides it’s called concealed for a reason.

I agree. Unfortunately, web sites keep running them and pretending the results mean something.

Actually I was wrong it one vote per IP but that does not stop someone from changing their IP address to vote again.

Still a stupid poll though.

Why not (kidding here but read on)? Think about it, someone can create a google maps interface that has popups with the CHL holders, then criminals will know which neighborhoods to hit that don't have CHL holders so their only risk at that point are people with rifles or who don't have their CHLs.
We all know though that the next logical step if this came to pass is criminals hitting the CHL owners premises and then the public can complain that the problem with all of these stolen guns getting into criminals hands has to do with CHL holders......

Gave em my dutiful 2 cents within the 500 word limit.
You cannot get a CHL without having and keeping a clean record. There is a comprehensive background check at the City, County, State, and Federal levels.
The purpose of a CHL is to defend life and property, not to take it. Unfortunately the objective of a Criminal is to take your property and if you get in the way, they may take your life as well. In most cases they are armed and desperate. The Police are not Supermen. The vast majority of the time they arrive after the scene of a crime.
Ashland Oregon is a tree-hug'in, bug-worship'in, poetry-read'in, Gore-love'in mecca. Makes Austin look ultra conservative. My G-G-Grandfathers homesteaded land there in the 1800's and I grew up in the Rogue Valley. Beautiful area but its been literally going to Pot since the 60's.

I am all for open records. But with identity theft, stalkers, etc., some things should not be open or easy to obtain. Giving out a list of CHl holders is just as dumb as giving out a list of all LEOs in the county.
