Today may be the day.
Do you think the Supreme court will take the case?
I doubt it

The consistent refusal of SCOTUS to review anything about the 2nd amendment will probably continue. The lower court's decision will stand and the "leaders" of DC will be forced to give in to the ruling.
Our only real chance is that some of the better Justices may see this as the last ditch chance for the 2nd amendment and take the case to make a point, dangerously in my opinion.

I think they'll hear the case, but the resolution will be some legal technicality that doesn't result in a significant change.
This is just an uninformed opinion.

I gotta agree, even though we would seem to have as good a chance right now, as we are going to get.
I see the current argument ending up about DC statehood, and nothing else.

They will take the case to resolve the conflict among the lower circuits.
The majority opinion will state that the 2A is an individual right. The collective right model will be dead and buried.
DC's handgun ban will be struck down.
They will rule that 2A rights are subject to "reasonable" restrictions. The scope of such restrictions will need to be addressed in future cases.
Restrictive laws in other jurisdictions (state & local) will not be struck down en masse.
Owner licensing, gun licensing, and registration will remain in effect wherever they are now.
Concealed carry will not be affected.
Open carry will not be affected.
(Some of the above, including other local gun bans like Chicago, may be affected by future cases.)

They will accept the case (90% sure on this). They will grant the cross petition to reinstate the rest of the original plaintiffs (51% sure on this).
I predict a win, but a very narrowly defined one. It will say that reasonable restrictions are OK. And that DC's is not reasonable. I don't know if they will touch the individual / collective right thing.

No news today. Next possible action on this is in about 2 weeks. They didn't deny the petition, they just didn't talk about it.
