Question about 22 LR and 22 Mag

Is it OK to shoot 22 LR in a 22 Mag revolver?

There are revolvers made that come with both a .22lr and a .22 mag cylinder, so that by changing cylinders, the gun can shoot both.
You should not attempt to fire a .22 lr cartridge in a cylinder chambered for .22 mag.
The .22 lr case, being slightly smaller, would probably split at the very least.

I don't know what particular gun you may have in mind, but I can assure you that in the mag cylinder of a Ruger Single Action Six, 22 lr's casings will definately split, burning powder residue will foul the air, and your hand(s), the casings will stick in the chambers....
not a good idea... accidentally been there, done that

Thanks, it is as I expected. In the past I have had a couple of single actions with a fitted cylinder for both caliber. You confirmed what I suspected.
