I was asked the other day what the standard Sidearm for the Border Patrol and Immigation/Customs Enforcement was, I thought it was the Beretta Brigadier 96 (.40 S/W) but they have changed recently, my buddy thought it was the H/K USP .40 S/W, but I was not sure--anybody know??--You get a pretty yeller sticker if you know. ;-)

I would guess the younger guys get a Sig variant. I would hope the older guys get to keep their 1911's! :coolgleamA:

It is the H&K P2000, .40 S&W.

Finished Academy. Sector orientation is this Monday, and I start at my station next Monday.

I think the entire forum needs to stand up and say "THANK YOU" to Thane for embodying the American Spirit of sacrifice and "manning the Wall" down there during this turbulent time.

Speaking for myself, I admire and respect your courage and "can do" attitude--Most American wat to gripe about what is going on down there--you want to do something about it--Good For You!!

As Thane's mom, I'm going to say "Thank you!" on his behalf, and on ours. He's in the hectic process of trying to get everything moved from our home to his new home, and making it livably his in the short amount of leave he's got (and reassuring his cat that no, it's not the end of the world... little Miss Abby has been most bewildered by these last few months :willynilly:). We're helping as we can on the weekends. (you wouldn't believe how much "stuff" can accumulate in a single bedroom over the course of some years!)

His computer is still plugged in here, waiting it's turn to be moved, so he's only got internet when he's (briefly) here for another load. Which also explains his very brief note on this thread - he's normally not this terse. :smilelol5:
