1911 trigger

I'm looking for a short GI style trigger for a 1991 that I picked up for next to nothing. For some reason it just doesn't feel like a 1911 to me unless it has a short trigger and an arched mainspring housing...I think that's probably because the first one I shot was my dad's Remington Rand when I was about 8. :patriot:

Seems like at one time I had heard of a short GI style trigger that was built up on the back of the shoe and was filed to fit to adjust the trigger stop. Does anyone know if such a critter exists? I don't really want to use a trigger with a set screw if I don't have to. I suppose I could even take a short trigger and braze the back of it and file to fit...

All I know is this lllloooonnnng plastic job has got to go...already replaced the mainspring housing.

Try Midway at http://www.midwayusa.com and search for 1911 trigger. They are really good and have a great variety!

Springfield uses a short "GI" trigger in some of their models.

I've got one that I pulled out of my Champion (I prefer longer triggers), but I'm not perzactly sure where it is.... :totap:

You ought to be able to find one pretty easily, though.
