Mission: Perform a raid on enemy supply dump to secure supplies.
Wally Walk

Saturday, 30 Aug 2008 1930hr: Review OPORD for the final time. Issue warning order and receive briefback from TAC Team partner. Based on intel received from TAC Team partner, a FRAGO is issued pushing back time at main OBJ from 2030hr. to 2130hr. as an additional target is added to mission to procure Class I resupply.
7:30 PM: Review rules for Wally Walk to ensure successful completion. Wife says she's famished, so we'll have to get dinner beforehand.

1945hr: Weapons drawn from arms room and commo check made.
Double-check my carry gear and make sure we have our cell phones with us.

1950hr: mount vehicle and move to SP. SP time 2000hr.

2000hr: Convoy begins movement to Release Point and begins road march along route previously reconnoitered.
Get in the car and start driving.

2015hr: Security halt near first objective and establish ORP. Egress from Urban Tactical Assault Vehicle and immediately establish 360° perimeter security. Move into assault position and launch raid to secure Class I resupply prior to assaulting main OBJ. Return to ORP and remount UTAV and proceed to main OBJ.
Pull into parking lot of restaurant, park and get out of car. Scan area and go inside to eat. Get back in car and head to WalMart.

2120hr: Security halt near main objective and establish ORP. Egress from Urban Tactical Assault Vehicle and immediately establish 360° perimeter security. Move into assault position. Launch assault on OBJ. Enemy security easily breached. TAC Team partner and I proceed to reconnoiter the AO in a clockwise fashion.
Pull into parking lot of WalMart,, park and get out of car. Scan area and go inside. No one gave me a second look, not even the cop that I passed on the way in.

TAC Team partner Decides to procure some Class VI supply while I maintained an overwatch position prior to moving on and my procuring Class V supplies. Find that intel was insufficient and that there is no suitable Class V supply remaining at this depot as it has apparently all been moved offsite.
Wife decides to check out the cosmetics aisle and get other personal items while I waited before we head over to sporting goods to check out the ammo. When we get there, the ammo cabinet had been decimated. I don't know if its people getting ready for Gustav or what, but the ammo shelves have been picked clean.

Move on to inspect and possibly procure Class VII items. TAC Team partner maintained an overwatch position while I made an incursion into various storage locations. Unable to locate anything authorized by our unit's MTOE, my TAC Team partner and I proceed to secure some Class II supplies. Moving into a prone position, I inspect various tactical cover garments before finally selecting one. Meanwhile, my TAC Team partner again maintained an overwatch position. Then, I maintained overwatch position as she made her own incursions.
We moved on to check out the housewares and assorted stuff. Looked at paper shredders, a document safe and some other stuff. Wife checked out Barbies and stuff. Didn't find anything we needed so we checked out the clothes. While my wife waited, I sat on the floor in front of some people to satisfy the "test fall" requirement and looked at some T-shirts because I needed some new ones. Then I hung around while she checked out some clothes and went to get a can of clear gloss enamel for one of her art projects.

As we prepared to egress the enemy supply depot, we procured additional Class I supply. We egressed the OBJ via an alternate route and made our way back to the ORP. Remounting the UTAV, we retreated along out preplanned route back to our patrol base.
Last stop was to get some cat food and then hit the Mickey D's where my wife and I shared a couple apple pies, large fries and a drink to satisfy the "nacho" requirement.

No photographic record of this mission was authorized, in order to maintain OPSEC.
We didn't get any pictures because the camera batteries died.

THere was no such thing as a Wally Walk ceremony in the early days of carry. I watched it start & really never thought anything about it & really never even thought about it becoming the graduation. We who are old have seen the evolution of a tradition from inception to what it is today.
It has gone from, "I went last night." To trying to trade off the nachos for healthier stuff, to full descriptions, blurrd out pictures, full blown phots, & now the above.
This is one of the really fun threads I enjoy. Glad it was started.
YOu guys are outdoing yourselves & I reall love it. Keep up the creative work for us old guys. Stay safe doing it.

JUDITH:
I do feel, Reg, that any Anti-Imperialist group like ours must reflect such a divergence of interests within its power-base.
REG:
Agreed. Francis?
FRANCIS:
Yeah. I think Judith's point of view is very valid, Reg, provided the Movement never forgets that it is the inalienable right of every man--
STAN:
Or woman.
FRANCIS:
Or woman... to rid himself--
STAN:
Or herself.
FRANCIS:
Or herself.
REG:
Agreed.
FRANCIS:
Thank you, brother.
STAN:
Or sister.
FRANCIS:
Or sister. Where was I?
REG:
I think you'd finished.
FRANCIS:
Oh. Right.
REG:
Furthermore, it is the birthright of every man--
STAN:
Or woman.
REG:
Why don't you shut up about women, Stan. You're putting us off.
STAN:
Women have a perfect right to play a part in our movement, Reg.
FRANCIS:
Why are you always on about women, Stan?
STAN:
I want to be one.

REG:
What?
STAN:
I want to be a woman. From now on, I want you all to call me 'Loretta'.
REG:
What?!
LORETTA:
It's my right as a man.

JUDITH:
Well, why do you want to be Loretta, Stan?
LORETTA:
I want to have babies.
REG:
You want to have babies?!
LORETTA:
It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them.
REG:
But... you can't have babies.
LORETTA:
Don't you oppress me.
REG:
I'm not oppressing you, Stan. You haven't got a womb! Where's the foetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?!
LORETTA:
[crying]
JUDITH:
Here! I-- I've got an idea. Suppose you agree that he can't actually have babies, not having a womb, which is nobody's fault, not even the Romans', but that he can have the right to have babies.
FRANCIS:
Good idea, Judith. We shall fight the oppressors for your right to have babies, brother. Sister. Sorry.
REG:
What's the point?
FRANCIS:
What?
REG:
What's the point of fighting for his right to have babies when he can't have babies?!
FRANCIS:
It is symbolic of our struggle against oppression.
REG:
Symbolic of his struggle against reality.

Me too. Symbolism always confused me. I could never see that it was symbolic of the same things the Prof did.
