What is the proper course of action IF I move before my application is complete? I plan on waiting to receive my CHL before notifying them, BUT what if it is say over 30-60 days.. I would be afraid it might delay the process more... ?
Any thoughts. .

it shouldn't affect your status. What you SHOULD do is as soon as you know your new address, contact them. That way they can send it to your new address, with your new address on it so you don't have to do the address change.

Simply drop an email to CHL@txdps.state.tx.us and give them information. I gave them my name, TDL, DOB, application number, OLD address and NEW address. Two business days later I received a simple reply saying "The change has been made."

You also avoid another @ $25 fee for address change on license. I'm still in processing application but have no reason to belieive it slowed things down.

Thanks for the info, I am in the same boat. BTW if you want to sell you house fast, just send in your CHL application. My house was listed for 150 days, mailed my application and sold it the next day! Must be like sleeping in the deer stand....close your eyes and here they come!

Your results may vary! :hurry:

Update: Even after they acknowledged the new address in my email, they sent it to the old address with the old address on the lic. Oh well, the mail was forwarded the next day and I had to do the online address change and pay $25 bucks.

The new one was printed and arrived a week and a 1/2 later. (There goes the printer excuse they were using.)

So I guess you can try the email rout but don't hold your breath! :banghead:

Bottom line, I'm legal.
