New Republican Party Chariman is for AWB

The new head of the Republican party seems to feel similarly about so called "Assault Weapons" as our new president:

http://www.ontheissues.org/Domestic/Mic ... ontrol.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Q: Should people have access to buy assault weapons?

A: Society should draw lines. What do you need an assault weapon for, if you're going hunting? That's overkill. But I don't think that means you go to a total ban for those who want to use gun for skeet shooting or hunting or things like that But what's the point of passing gun laws if we're not going to enforce them? If you want to talk about gun control, that's where you need to start. We've got 300 gun laws on the books right now. At the end of the day, it's about how we enforce the law.
Seems that the new party chairman is all for "sensible gun laws" just like our new President.
Just like the Democrats, after a huge loss after Clinton, I foresee the Republican machine making the same mistakes the Democrats made. I think they just learned the wrong lesson.

I'm glad I bought an AR-15 when I did; it would appear that the Republicans look to cave on the gun issue, as witnessed by this.

At least the man isn't totally anti-gun, as his other views seem close to the NRA's (Focus on enforcement) but come on guys.

Politicians and political parties play to the masses and the media - not to ideals or reason. That's how they get their big salaries and pensions and health benefits, and power etc., etc.

Did you notice any other similarities to the dems in the new repub restructuring program?

EDIT:
BTW, I've never voted for a democrat President and I've voted more than a few times. I'm pretty disgusted with all of 'em. In fact, I'm a lot disgusted with all of 'em!

I wonder if he is under the same misconception that the media hawks to the general public - that the so called "assault weapons" are fully automatic?

Sad to see the GOP leadership learned nothing from their loss in November.

I am hoping that the RINOS will be balanced out by the DINOS. My politics is so weird, I can pretty much love and simultaneously hate most politicians anyway.

well you know what they say: the only thing worse than a Republican is a Democrat.

Republican or Democrat unfortunately makes little difference except in one area.

The Republicans are held into account. The Dems are not.

This is why we now have a tax cheat as a Treasury secretary and for those ya-hoos on the hill, it's no big deal.

It now comes to light that the Treasury Secretary is not the only tax dodger either in, or proposed, for the new POTUS' administration.

Where would you or I be living today if we had a six figure unpaid IRS bill that was several years old? Like I said, I'm really fed up with all of them - repubs and dems alike!

I'm sitting right now in the Harris County Republican Party HQ wondering the same thing...I have a committee meeting here in a little while...I may throw this out there for general consumption...

Should be fun to watch a few folks squirm...

Please do! I'm ready for a New Republican Party. Note the capital "N." I'm very serious and the dirt bags that elected that RINO Chairman need to know real Republicans are fed up with this garbage.

Chas.

What are we fed up types going to do about it? I don't think we will be able to rebuild the party, the Rhino's are deeply entrenched.

They are the same dirt bags that gave us Tom McCain and tried to convince us that he is conservative.
