I occasionally wander down to the area of the state I was raised to check things out on the small town newspapers and found this article. I was very impressed by the attitude of those in law enforcement there. For your enjoyment:

Having a CHL does not mean that the person with the license is likely to end up in a shootout someday.

Treviño said that in his entire 20-year career at a police officer, “I’ve only known one person with a CHL who has ever drawn his gun.”

But like most law enforcement officers, Treviño is glad to know there are “good guns” around these days when they are needed.

When a police officer finds himself alone and in trouble, one of those good guns just might save his life.

Bee County is a good place. Many moons ago I was a State Trooper station in next door Live Oak county and also worked the free state of McMullen County. Lots closer to Texas than most of Austin.

dang, thats good to hear. i lived in beeville a couple years while working as a correctional officer, too young to carry back then though....its good to know places like this exist!!!
