Does anyone make concealable speedloader cases for HKS speedloaders? I've got the standard police style double case, but it's a little bulky.

When I was carrying speed loaders as reserve deputy in the 80's Bianchi was making a "split speed loader case" that put 3 IWB & 3 OWB. At that time no one that I knew liked them after trying them. Don't know if they are still around or not. Check their web cite. bianchi-intl.com.

I decided to go wit speed strips instead of speed loaders for my spare ammo for a revolver. MUCH easier to conceal and still keeps them all together - but not as quick on the reload as a moon clip or speed loader.

Two revolvers?

A second revolver is a fast reload.

The speed strips are certainly easier to conceal but speed is not their strong point.
A speedloader dropped in a pocket is really not noticeable unless your pants are too tight.

Speaking of two revolvers, what do you think of a .38 special in an ankle holster?

I like it. I like to have one on my waist more than on my ankle - so my ankle rig is mainly for a deep concealment item or a BUG. My setup is a S&W 642 in a Galco Glove. Great setup - but make sure your revolver is light.

So the revolver has to be light? Will it slide down?
I ask this b/c I've never worn one on my ankle before.

Sometimes it will slide down. Most offer a calf strap just to make sure, but I haven't found that necessary. With my setup, I have had no slippage problems.

Should get it next week and I'll let ya'll know how it works. I like the looks of it, if it's easily concealable that'll be even better. Also ordered a couple Safariland COMP-2 speedloaders to try out, I saw a IDPA video of someone using the COMP-2 and noticed that all he did press the button on the back to make it release the rounds, how cool is that!

Well, the Midway USA package arrived today. Both Bianchi speedloader cases, both Safariland COMP-2's, and the Midway master catalog were in the box. My thoughts on the Safariland COMP-2 speedloaders...these things are the BOMB! Their speed puts my HKS speedloaders to shame, although the HKS's may hold up to more abuse and have a longer life span. I can't wait to try them out at the range. The Bianchi speedloader cases are great, it looks as though half the cartridges in the speedloader ride on one half of the belt, and half on the other side of the belt. The quality is great, looks to be put together very well. It looks like the speedloader case (fully loaded with a speedloader and 6 rnds of .357 Mag) only sticks out from the BELT ITSELF about 1" at the snap, with the rest of the case rounding smoothly out with no sharp edges to "print" under a cover shirt. Wearing only a dark colored Polo style shirt, they conceal very good, and are quickly accessible. The cases are very tight to snap closed right now (new leather, guess it may "break in" a little) but when the snap is popped upen the COMP-2 is very easily pulled from the case to put into action. The speedloader cases are getting their first trial run tonight when we go out to dinner. Maybe Mrs. JLaw will be kind enough to take a picture of the setup for me soon so I can post it!

Well, I've got some cool "doo-dads" now, too bad they won't help me shoot better!

Does someone need to mention that there's no legal obligation to conceal speedloaders or magazines in Texas? You can hang one from each ear if you want.

There may be valid tactical reasons for concealing them.

People walk around with cell phones, Blackberry-type devices, and other accessories on their belts all the time. Nobody notices or cares.

I figured as much, but in all honesty didn't know the law. However the 'tactical reasons' you mention are the exact reasons I've been hunting concealable cases. I figure anybody who could actually ID a speedloader (aka silver HKS knob or black Safariland knob) was probably an OK fellow "in the know", but didn't feel like taking any chances. Since I've obtained it, only my wife and son, my one very good friend who also possesses a CHL, my uncle who has a CHL, and one other non-CHL friend know that I have a CHL, I'm kinda discreet about that fact.

So basically my plan was to conceal my speedloaders underneath my cover shirt as well as possible, and I've found a way to do it. So now instead of carrying 6, I can carry 6+12 with my own peace of mind.

But now that I'm curious, does anyone here openly carry speedloaders or spare magazines??
