I open-carried my Glock 19 today

I had it in a leather holster that I tucked into my belt. It was not an IWB holster. The Glock was hanging out for all the world to see. I went to a Starbucks. I got a couple of hellos and a few smiles, but no one said anything.
I got my coffee, and then opened my laptop to enjoy the beverage while surfing the internet. Then I left.
This was in Arizona where I am visiting.

I'm driving to Florida in a few weeks - planning on open carrying my G23 as I drive through Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. We'll see how that works out. :)

I'll be pulling the RV through NM and into CO for the summer and I won't be carrying openly.

There was a time when traveling through New Mexico we were advised to drive with it on dashboard, and holster it open style when getting out to get gas. This was before they recognized our CHLs. Today it is unnecessary

While I support the right to open carry, I have to ask WHY? If you have a CHL and the state you are in recognizes our CHL, Hide that thing.

I did that over spring break. Just make sure it is concealed and have a CHL for Alabama and Louisianna (gray area).

You may want to check local laws for where you are as I believe Arizona is like Missouri and the local entities (cities and towns) may enact ordinances prohibiting the carry of firearms in parks unless you have a CHL and then it must be concealed.

I can't speak for anyone else here, but I'd like to "try" open carry at least once. I don't see any harm in doing so.

Wait, you open-carried and had a normal, modern life experience? I mean, NO cowboys on horses?, No shootouts like at the Ok Corral? No funny Italian music playing in the background as the Wells Fargo stagecoach passes by? How is it possible that you could open-carry and not throw your state back into the days of the old west?

No, but this guy has, twice.

There are plenty of other stories out there too. I can tell you the later is the norm when you start going into grocery stores or mega-chain stores. Folks are not comfortable seeing a gun on someone. I am not sure what the OP looks like, but face it, if he looks like an off duty LEO in plain clothes, it will make a difference on how he is perceived and if a call is made. Trust me, I know of what I speak since I have personally been involved in 'Man with a gun' calls and know of a couple of others.
I am glad the OP was able to open carry, but who, when, where, what are all going to play into a successful OC trip, or a call to and visit from a LEO, legal or not.

I open carried in NV and AZ, both times it was great. I even did it in Scottsdale, where I got a few looks, but no problems.
In NV, it was even better. I did so while attending Front Sight, in NV. The group I went with all open carried in the Burger King we decided to eat at. This guy came up to us, asking if we were at Front Sight, and we discussed how much we all enjoyed it.
I hope to be able to do so in Texas one day

I was in Tucson a few months back and saw a guy open carrying in a Whole Foods store. If there were a place one would have a problem I would think that a Whole Foods in a major city would be it. Guess people are just more level headed out there.

boy howdy, it depends on where you are. I have a considerable proportion of my family in Pheelis, they have lived there for generations, and will tell you how the "Californians" have been moving in and trying to make it LA East....
course, down in Wilcox (where we usedta have a house), I recently saw a gentleman OC'ing an old school six shooter in the McDonald's there.

I'd like to open carry one time, just to see how it feels.

Same as religious symbols, tattoos, piercings, and corporate logos.
And bumper stickers about your kid.
