I've found myself either in a river, creek, or pool almost every day over the last two weeks and have started wondering if there's a way to carry while wearing swim trunks. Sounds silly, but the best I've been able to find by searching is someone called Walter Birdsong who coats the gun with Black-T. Personally I was thinking a shrink wrapped type covering that you would obviously have to break to use the pistol, but should keep it completely dry otherwise. Am I just asking for too much?

On a side note, I found a thread on XD talk where pretty much everyone jumped the guy about going to pool parties where there might be alcohol and college students. I mostly frequent Blue Hole out in Wimberley (where I have yet to see alcohol), and the San Marcos / Comal rivers. Of course I won't be carrying while drinking, so please don't feel a need to dwell on that. I also think that if someone's worried about a drunk person getting my gun from me, then I'd say that's exactly the situation in which I'd need said gun.

Mostly, I just feel naked spending so much time unarmed. Often I ride with friends and can't easily store a gun in their vehicles.

Any suggestions?

I use a waterproof fanny pack designed to keep wallet, ID, cell phones, etc. dry when going canoeing, tubing, etc.

I did a quick search and found a couple you might consider:

Mine most closely resembles Example 2 and works fine.

Needless to say, this is not a quick draw arrangement, but it allows you to keep your gun with you and solves the problem of keeping it secure when you have to park in remote, unsupervised waterfront access parking lots.

Can you open the bag with bare hands, and maybe teeth?

I have seen those waterproof hard cases for boaters in a size about right for my NAA Black Widow.
Most come with a neck lanyard.

There are a bunch of different sizes, but nothing I can find large enough for a full-frame pistol. Something akin to a pocket gun would fit in some of these.

Anyway, I got mine at Academy. Use it to hold cell phone, credit cards etc while boating. And it does work very well - I slipped while straddling boat and dock when a big wake hit a few weeks ago and went head first into the water. But everything inside my little dry pack was safe and dry. They also open quickly and easily with little thumb knobs (90-degree turn to open) that create an air tight seal - much better than the rolled up velcro design of other similar bags.

Of course, before getting one of these, I always used the old tried and true ZipLoc freezer bag - gallon size would hold most any hand gun. Of course, where to hide it then?

Stick it down your trunks. If it's a full-size, you might find yourself real popular with the ladies right quick

This is a little cooler than a fanny pack, and it should fit most carry pistols, maybe an extra mag too...

This looks amazingly similar to Example 3 in my response to the original post.

Carry a Glock. You don't even need the special spring cups unless you shoot under water.

A couple of people have already mentioned similar items, but specifically what you are probably looking for is called a dry bag. They come in many sizes, from cell phone size to practically trunk size. Kayakers use them all the time and they are available any place that sells kayak supplies. For concealed carry you probably would not want to get one of the transparent ones.
