I am running Windows XP Home on my home PC, I've been looking for a program called Microsort Photo Editor to see if it's installed on my PC. Anyone know where I'll find it if it's installed on this PC??

Download The GIMP and never look back. Holler if you have questions.

But if you just want photo editor, check add/remove programs.

+1 on Gimp.
MS Photo editor comes with a complete install of Office XP.
Also might try Picasa by Google.

+ another one on Gimp.
Also Irfanview (at irfanview.com) if you want to view lots, edit little.
If you know a lot about Java and want a very capable photo editor, ImageJ is a free download from NIH.
Gimp is the best suggestion so far, though.

I too prefer GIMP, but there is another option you may want to look at. Some have found it more easily meets their needs and has a simpler interface - Photofiltre -

It's free as well.

PHOTOSHOP!
Forget programs like photo editor - they are essentially useless.
You should be able to pick up a copy of photoshop elements for under $100. It will give an amateur photographer all they will need in order to enhance their pictures. The learning curve is not big at all on elements and you can do a lot right out of the box. If you really want to step up to the plate, get Photoshop CS2 or CS3. I have them running on 3 machines all the time and could not work or live without them!
