Does anyone carry a 10mm?

I bought a Glock 20sf a few weeks back. So far, I have not shot it yet, but I did buy some 135gr from Double Tap. Does anyone carry this load?
Also, the 9x25 seems intersting as well. What are the thoughts on it?

Ouch! those 10s kick like ornry mule. If you choose to carry it please practice often with it so that you become accustomed to its power and can use it effectively. Thats why the FBI chose not to use it. None of thier guys were willing to train with them because of the aggressive recoil. Don't get me wrong 10 mm are excellent cal.s. But all that power and accuracy come with a price. Did you know some folks even use it as an effective rnd for bear hunting. Or so they say. Don't have the guts to try it myself. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes.

I carry a 10mm (Glock 29) or a 357 sig (Glock 32) depending on how I feel. The 10mm does take some practice initially, but I don't have any serious issues with its recoil. Yet. I still have yet to fire any full power rounds like Double Tap. Downside to the 10mm Glock is that even the sub-compact is pretty big! It is almost the same size as my compact 357 sig and is larger than a Taurus PT-145.

Well, I still have not shot the 10mm through it, but I did get a chance to pop off a few 9x25 that came in today.......Dang that's fun. The LWD barrel is awesome. There is a lot of metal on that barrel. Accruacy was outstanding, and the power that a "9mm" has is awesome as well.
I have some 135, and 155 10mm that I still need to try, but I think I've found my new ccw ammo for now.

I carry a S&W 1006 sometimes in the winter months when it's easier to cover up. I've tried the DoubleTap 135's, but I prefer the 155-165 grain bullets. I'm sure it makes no real difference either way. An excellent choice.

I carry the DoubleTap 135gr in .40S&W. It's just slightly less power than the 10mm, but goodness it's got some bark.

I carry a SA XD-40. As long as I can get the DoubleTap 135gr JHP's, that's what I'll carry.

I carry a smith 1066 in 10mm and love it. No recoil issues for mine. I switch from a40cal--45cal--and the 10. I think I'm lucky. When I was a young teenager my father allways had large caliber handguns. We shot 44mags and 50 cal desert eagle. Sure they kicked but as I've aged I've noticed that the calibers I shoot don't seem to kick much at all. I thank my dad for that.

Check out this review of the Glock 20 running Double Tap loads. I think this will answer any questions you might have.

Excellent round for carry IMO, it is a guaranteed stopper, plus if you miss them the noise will have them running.

I sometimes carry a .40 cal, but had never fired a 10mm until one day, Crossfire's husband Marty, let me fire his 10mm and .40 cal Glocks back to back so I could see the difference. I have to say, I don't know how Marty's loads compared to other 10mm loads, but it didn't seem any worse to me than .45 ACP - my regular carry caliber - and it felt only a little bit stronger than the .40 cal. I wish I could tell you what the bullet weights were for certain, but I think they were in the 165 grain vicinity. Marty describes the 10mm as "a big pussycat."
I've been shooting .44 magnums (240 grains, 1200 fps) for years out of a revolver. Perhaps that's why the 10mm didn't seem all that stunning to me.

Well, I finally went out and shot the 10mm. WOW is all that I can say. I expected a lot more recoil from everything that I've read on the internet. My snub .357 kicks pretty hard with 158's, so this was almost half that. I will be using the 10mm for winter carry for sure. I may just have to go find me a G29 later now..... Dang. :)

i pretty much regularly carry my glock 29. my other std carry is an xd9 sc. the g29 has a slightly shorter grip than the xd9sc therefore actually making it an easier pistol to conceal. the width is similar but both my g29 and xd9sc have the small pearce 3rd finger adapters which make them considerably more comfortable to shoot, especially the 10mm and the g29 conceals easier imo. i love my g29 and is my favorite, just over my g20. the xd9sc is a nice little shooter to though.
