Decided I needed a 1 1/2" belt for my holster. Went to Cavendar's and got what appears to be a pretty sturdy belt. Time will tell.

What are some other sources for good belts?

On line holster belts appear to be expensive.

I think one of the biggest factors to look for when choosing a good gun belt is that it be two pieces of leather sewn together to make a double layer. Single piece belts, even the thicker ones will tend to stretch and warp over time where your gun sits. Having the dual layers helps prevent this. I got mine from CrossBreed holsters when I got my SuperTuck and have been very happy with it.

IMHO Mitch Rosen belts are worth every penny. Double layered, curved in the back for back belt loop, and easily hold up my Government 45 on one side and 2 spare mags on the other with no wobble, droop, or give.

I purchased mine through TT Gun Leather, I am very happy with it, although there is a waiting time that needs to be considered. I find their holsters to be 1st rate as well.

I always have purchased mine from a saddlery in the local area. Mine are over 20 years old and look new. Have them make them out of saddle skirt leather.

I got one at Cabelas for $25. Double-layer, double-stitched, available in black or brown, with a removable buckle.

I recently received a gun belt I had ordered from http://www.dmbullardleather.com/ and it is one I would recommend. I had one of those Liger gun belts before and the Bullard gun belt does a way better job distributing the weight of my XD-40 SC.

I use the 5.11 tactical belt, very sturdy http://www.lapolicegear.com/5tabalebe.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Plus I just added the perry suspenders so I dont have to keep hiking my pants with all the weight http://www.perrysuspenders.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; .

I have had great luck with a Wilson belt but I think it's actually built by Rosen

Forgot to add that I really like the belts with the added holes versus the standard 5 holes
