Your Target Preferences?

I like these anatomical targets from LE Targets

I have to use a marking pen to outline the heart, spine, and brain because at 10+ yds they're difficult to see. Otherwise they work well for PD training.

I have some silhouette targets, but I generally just find inexpensive bull's eye targets or use blank paper. Big silhouette targets are good for practicing un-aimed or off hand shooting.

11X17 ledger size paper makes good targets. I like to put the Shoot'NC stickers on them. You can use the little dots they come with as extra shooting points. Or just use a Sharpie to draw a dot or X. I used to have a printer that used that paper and bought a whole ream of paper thinking I would use it. Now I still have most of a ream of paper to supply targets. When you consider what they charge for a little packet of printed targets, blank paper is cheap.

For my Garand, the NRA official rifle targets seem to fit those iron sights the best.

You can have a buddy call out a target, like shape, #, body, eyes, and then make the shot.

for hanging targets our range has a box of blank cardboards, about 20"x30" to hang on the wires. I normally will either just stick a couple of "shoot 'n see" 3 inch dots on it, or just draw a circle. For the target boards, I keep a big stack of cheap paper plates to either tape or staple to the boards. For pistol shootinig, I may stick 5 plates up and "try" to double tap them all. The same plates are great with a 3 inch "shoot 'n see" on the down range boards for rifle work. They are cheap targets, and pretty easy to see your shots on.

My favorite targets are just plain/cheap white paper plates. :biggrinjester:

:iagree:

Use magic marker to put an "X" in the middle.

Or, fire a shot and put the rest of the magazine as close to that hole as you can.

A cardboard milk box, most stores in my area give them away and It is about the same size as a human torso. Some times I will use a couple of sticks and put a paper plate above it for other drills.
