I sold my USP compact 9mm about a month or two ago and replaced it with this. I figured I would give a Comp - Tac Ctac a try this time and found it to be a mediocre holster at best in stock form. I had to replace one of the clips because it was too close to the butt of the gun with a crossbreed metal clip (thank goodness that it was the exact length I needed). I also found the cant of the holster to be not aggressive enough for me to pull off wearing a loose t-shirt or a button up shirt untucked. I had originally moved the front strut up one hole and had it held in place with only one screw instead of two right off the side of the holster. I went ahead and made the change permanent today with a belt buckle blank I bought at Hobby Lobby. I cut it to fit and punched some holes in it now the holster fits like it should have in the first place.

I didnt relize how much I missed my USPc and my worn in Crossbreed Supertuck till I wore this holster ... I seem to have it rigged to be kind of comfterble but I already have another crossbreed for a USPC or P2000 in .40 .... just gotta get my dirty litle hands on one

If any of you are having issues with the ctac this kind of mod might be your saving grace. I know that it greatly improved the comfort when carrying at 2:30 - 3 o' clock.

I figure this is a good place to ask this question (and taunt you a bit).

I asked for (and received) a Mitch Rosen ARG Express for my USPc .40 for my birthday.

This is my first attempt at concealing, and I know I'm probably doing most of it wrong. I just tried the largest pair of pants and sturdiest belt that I had. I couldn't seem to find a comfortable position in the 3 o'clock area where the holster would lay flat against my body.

Any thoughts for a newbie?

What the Crossbreed Supertuck and the MTAC Minotaur (also from Comp-tac, and which is my daily holster) have in common is that they spread the weight of the gun out pretty far both fore and aft which helps to stabilize the gun; and then they also have a broad leather backing which spreads out the effect of the gun protruding into your side. Add to that the MTAC puts a second layer of soft leather against the "inside" of the backing piece to make it more comfortable against your body. Mitch Rosen makes well regarded holsters, but that particular model you've got there doesn't look like it would be as comfortable nor as stable as either the Supertuck or the MTAC.

You have embarked on the quest for the perfect holster. Welcome to the club. You'll likely buy at least 2 or 3 before you find the one that suits you the best.

Thanks for the thoughts. I bet you're right. At least I can blame this one on Carrots.

Try 4 oclock. Many people can not carry at 3 and need to move it back a little. I can carry mine for 14 hrs no problem at 8 oclock (left handed).

I've noticed darker colors seem to hide any printing better than a light color. Pants with a pattern also seem to hide better than plain material. Office camo.

I find the Kholster http://www.kholster.com/index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; very comfortable at 4 o'clock. Just wear it for a couple of weeks trying adjustments, and by then you would know where to trim the leather to make it smaller while retaining its comfort.
