CDNN has been out of, but now has in stock the duo-tone FEG PA-63 in the makarov rounds for $139.
I have had several of these and can be very neat little Walther PPk knock-offs. The trigger is about 18-20 lbs, but Wolff springs has a replacement spring (takes 5 minutes) to lower to a 8 lb.

Slap some hand made marschal grips on it http://www.marschalgrips.com/fegpa63/fegpa63.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then go to ebay and order the leather holster for $7.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/Makarov-Military-Po ... 53de658619" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And you got quite a nicely tricked out easily concealable handgun. I read once that this was the favorite of airline pilots worldwide as they are small enough to conceal but big enough to be taken seriously.

Nice thing is that even with ammo shortages, makarov ammo was always available.

CDNN - Please explain if this is a bricks and mortar store down your way,
or some Internet site.

That's a pretty good looking gun for very low money.

Oh sorry bro, thought everyone in TX knew about CDNN. It is the largest wholeseller in the US, located in Abilene. You order your gun at wholesale prices, have it shipped to your FFL. They had new LCP's for $279. Check them out at http://www.cdnninvestments.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You have to download their catalog, only some parts and supplies are visible online.

Guys,

If it weren't for the .380 famine, I'd tell you to kick in another $100 and get a Thunder .380 with its magnificent reliability and legendary trigger; but what's the point if you can't shoot it. Remember the good old days when you just stopped off at Wal-Mart on the way to the range for your .380?

I know some areas the local shops haven't had any (we have ample here) of the 380, but it is readily available at Cabelas online. When I checked a couple of weeks ago by phone, the lady asked me if I wanted 500 or 1,000! Cheaper Than Dirt has it as does the Cabelas in Fort Worth. Ammunitiontogo has 380 hp also.

BTW, the marschal grips makes a really beautiful grip for that Bersa too.

I just bought one of these the other day, havent had a chance to really give it a workout but took a few shoots with it before buying. May put this in CC lineup if DPS feels the urge to approve my license :rules: and if it proves to be reliable. So far i like the feel and its pretty accurate.

I have had several of these and they are good, just a tad "snappy." What most do with these is buy some new Wolff Springs. The hammer spring is 19 lbs...wollf has 9 lb ones that help. Then, to absorb recoil, is to replace the recoil spring mounted on the barrel to a 12-15 lb one. Makes racking a bit tougher, but easier on the recoil. They are VERY reliable....these are the military and police guns of Hungary. I have some extra leather military holsters for these if anyone needs one, let me know. I just ordered Makarov ammo for these at $10.49 for a box of 50.

TIP: aside from replacing the hammer spring, some shorten it. I have tried it as well before. Just take 1/2 to one coil off at a time. You want a lighter trigger but not so light you get light strikes. I would start with snipping 2, then 1/2 to liking.

I mailed one of those to my son for his PA63 and he said it would not fit.

I had 5 of the guns and 5 of the holsters, they definitely will fit. The leather is stiff, but like all leather, will form and stretch. I had my doubts at first too, but gently push the gun in until it seats. After a couple of times doing this, should fit fine. Also, the mag has to be turned the right way or will not fit. I may to to take a pic of mine in the holster later.

Just got back from range, and snappy is right. Think ill try your suggestions. 200 rounds not a problem. gun feels good but a few tweeks wont hurt, seems reliable will put a few more rounds in it before fully trusting it, but 2-2 1/2 group @15 yards not bad. Definately going on carry list. Nice little piece. :clapping:

A part of the "snappiness" is the makarov round itself. Not much can do there. PLUS, with the aluminum/titanium frame being so light, all the more. If you get the wooden grips I listed, the weight will help. There are a lot of tweaks that people do with these, just google it. But the stronger recoil spring and lighter hammer spring first. Might even replace the firing pin spring, that way less chance of light strikes when you do lower the hammer spring. Some people replace the rod with a ball bearing for the decoker. man, they must make guys stout in Hungary!
