A Lee Load All Shotshell press is on its way from Midway. For $42, it is a lot cheaper than other shotshell loaders. Think I'll give it a try, but not sure on what I'm getting myself into yet. I have a Lee Turret Press and love using it. Any recommendation on books and experience with this press? Thanks in advance. :tiphat:

I have heard good things about the Load-All. The instructions for my Lee press and other equipment were pretty good, I imagine the same is true for the Load-All. You can download an electronic version here:

I talked to a co-worker who reloads shotshells, and he says that the RCBS book is really good. It also has great reviews on Midway:

My understanding that shotshell reloading is pretty simple and easy. The only real variables seem to be powder, shot type, and shell length - no worrying about seating depth and whatnot.

You would be better to stay with a particular type of hull. The inner capacity is not the same for all shot shells hulls. Also 8 point crimp hulls are much more reloader friendly than 6 point. You will get 2 to 3 times more reloads from the 8 point crimp hulls. If you are loading 12 gauge, 700X and any of the Winchester ball powders are pretty clean. The Hercules ( I guess they are still Hercules) powders such as Red Dot are very dirty. Most of the powder companies put out their own loading manuals and in this day and age can probably be down loaded off a web site. Hope this is a help. Good Luck.

I believe all the Hercules powders are now Alliant.

You can find the shotshell loads here:

http://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/ ... &gtypeid=3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Data for Winchester powders can be found here:

http://www.wwpowder.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So how did the Load-All work out? I eventually plan on loading 12ga and looked at the load-all. I still have 1.5 out of 3 cases of AA I bought before the 08 dove season so I am good for at least another year. I might buy before prices get higher though.

Got the reloader in. Haven't install it onto the work bench yet, but it seems well constructed. Will report back when I have everything in place.
