Let's face it, our financial system is imploding. I have a cache of pork n beans and bullets but what if things go south and the President declares martial law. I have read about Katrina and how guns were confiscated from law abiding citizens who only wanted to protect their homes. A CHL meant nothing. Obviously the US Army could squash me like a bug so what would be prudent. How would you hold on to your guns?

I have lots of tin foil and I live in TX :)

The Nut who just flew an airplane into an IRS building in Austin was no coincidence. There are a growing number op people who are losing everything they have. When people have nothing to lose things get dangerous. Of course in this situation a gun wouldn’t be much help...

I agree, this will become more and more prevalent. We are going to see this along with robbery, assault, and other crimes happen more and more as time goes on.

In the event of Marshal Law, I'm going to handogs place for the food cache!

Texas isn't like New Orleans, we're prepared, rational, and have laws forbidding this kind of behavior. And if things were so bad that the federal government took over, are they really gonna be worried about confiscating guns...and if that was in fact their goal are they really gonna breach on the guy that refuses to open the door and says, "I mean you no harm, but god help the first few guys through that door."

I'll go down sprayin lead with a mouth full of Handog's pork n beans. As soon as I find out where he lives.

I've been stockpiling .22 ammo for a while now. With food it seems almost impossible to be able to collect enough. Somehow it has to be a renewable supply. It's easy to think you could grow enough veggies but why were so many folks starving during the great depression? We have access to 100 plus rural acres with a pond but I know it couldn't be that easy. I would like to hear an educated estimate of how many people 120 acres could support.

I disagree. I think guns and ammo are a big help in that situation.

Seriously, I can’t imagine even the current administration being stupid enough to try to disarm the entire country. Can you imagine how big of a job it would be, and the reaction the Federal Government would get?

I have not heard of it being done during the last depression. As a matter of fact, someone correct me if I am wrong, but the only time I have ever heard of anything like this happening was in New Orleans.

I would hang on to the pork n beans and not worry about my guns.

If they'll confiscate your guns they'll also confiscate your pork and beans. They're socialists. Their MO is rob from the productive and give it to the stupid and lazy to buy their votes.

As a USAF security forces member (the LE Functional AF Police). I would "not see" any firearm I came across as long as no other law was being broken. I will be carrying one and when I run out of ammo I want someone else to cover me (if was that bad).
