Did they say it was because of the margaritas? I really doubt they are a 51% location.

Need location info.

A 51% location wouldn't post 30.06 (it wouldn't need to). And 30.06 has nothing to do with alcohol. And Chili's is not a 51% location (most likely). And Chilli's serves alcohol other than margaritas.

I've been to the one in Roanoke, Lewisville and Arlington over that last couple of months and have not seen any signs. It may be a rogue manager deal like the Starbucks in Montana was. A location would be good to know.

Then we'd
possibly be looking at a 51% location. The .30-06 has no bearing on anything alcohol related...so that's not why they have a .30-06. I'd guess it was a location manager trying to think he is bigger and badder.

Yes, please post which one. I've been to a few in the Houston area and haven't seen a sign yet.

There are no Chilis' listed on the Texas 30.06 site. The last one I went in (about six months ago) on Westheimer near Fountainview was not posted.

I patronize the Chili's in The Woodlands and Conroe, and they are not posted.

i just spoke with the manager and confirm what i saw. He insisted only police and LEOs are allowed. I didnt argue but he did sound anti.

I hope the one in Victoria doesn't post a 30.06 sign. I'd hate to have to boycott their business as I appreciate all that Chili's does for cancer research. This would be hard to explain to the wife.

Did you speak with him in person, or on the phone?
If it is truly posted with a proper 30.06 sign, well then its off limits to CHL's , and I will not go to that Chili's.
But if it is not properly posted, but he "told you", then You and ONLY YOU (and of course anyone else that a responsible person at that Chili's told that it was not allowed) cannot carry there as you were duly told, and then it is enforceable as well that you cannot carry there.
Of course, if it was on the phone, and he could not state in court, that he told you directly, then if it is not proper (or not posted) then you CAN carry there.
If it is posted 51%, I would call TABC as there is no way the alcohol sales are 51% of a Chili's revenue.

They are a national sponsor for St. Judes Children's Research Hospital as well, and I would hate to stop that charity from them. Of course, I will still do my part with St. Jude's in our annual event that raises about $45,000 each Columbus Day Weekend.

There is no way to tell from the TABC database if this Chili's is not a 51% location as they do not have a Food and Beverage permit, only and LB. However, as others have said, it is doubtful they are truly a 51% establishment, so the alcohol would not matter.
What does matter is if the 30.06 meets all the requirements and is valid, then it is off-limits.
Is there any way to get a photo of it and validate the size of the letters and wording??
