Hello All. Been around here for awhile, but have never posted. After much research I finally took my chl class. So it looks like i'm in the waiting room for now. Hopefully my bottom doesn't get to sore sitting around waiting. lol

Welcome to the waiting room to both of you. I would say that the wait isn't bad, but I would be lying. It is nice to have the advice from those who have gone before while your here though.

When I last did my packet in 2003 there was not an online method. So when i did my packet this time i also did the paper and pen version instead of the online, and found out about the online version afterwards. Have to do the full packet due to the time lapse. Anyway, Anyone know if it will magically show up on the website or if i'm just out of luck?

It should show up on the website about 3-4 weeks after DPS gets your packet.

Finally finished the app and turned it in. Ordered a gun belt and a holster the same day. It'll be a race to see which gets here first, but it'll seem like they're trying to see who can get here last...

Took the course last year and just sent in my packet today via certified mail!!! I had to clear up some financial paperwork and it took a while to go through. After the 6 month wait, the 90 or so days to get my plastic will be a breeze!

Yeah no kidding. I am at almost 3 weeks and my status online hasn't changed. Who do you know on the inside?

I only have a theory. I am sure it may get shot down but here it is.
I put my online application on June 24th. My theory is that the completed online application date is a place holder that keeps you at the top until the rest of the materials make it in.

What do you think about that theory? Besides that, I have no idea why I have been processed so quickly. All i know is that I want to trade my G17 for an XD9 sub-compact.

I was really worried that it would be a drawn out process, but the processing time is moving pretty fast. I am impressed!
