Wasn't sure where to post this, but this sorta fits here.

I did my first "Wally Walk" this morning.

But in Erik Scott's memory, I did it at Costco, not Walmart.

Sig P238 cocked and locked in my strong side front pocket of my shorts with an Uncle Mikes pocket holster. (not really happy with this holster)
No belt, keys in my weak side front pocket and iphone in my empty back pocket.

Checked for signs, my Costco has the "no unlicensed firearms inside these premises" sign in both English and Spanish. So that meant come right in.

Looked all around, stayed about 45 minutes. Naturally I'm not going to buy anything. Seems to have everything Sam's has, but with more wine.

Security guard standing outside at the front door as I was leaving made me pause for a second. But otherwise no problems.

I may want to add a belt. Walking with the extra weight bouncing up and down kind wants to pull your pants down.

Congrats on getting your license, Philip. I got mine yesterday as well and went to Sams today. It was well concealed, and the trip was quite routine.

Never underestimate the worth of a good stout belt. It makes the carry so much more comfortable and secure in my humble.

Good job on the walk and the boycott of purchasing.

I use CrossBreed's gun belt. It is probably the best belt in general I have ever owned. I *highly* recommend it.

I have 5-11 gun belts and they are awesome. They came free with the tactical pants so they were the right price too!

I didn't realize how much better a "real" gun belt makes things until recently. Any new members would do well to search the forum and research gun belts. We are talking about Kydex (or other material) reinforced leather belts - not just "sturdy" belts.

Just want to point that out, and perhaps save someone a lot of sagging pants trouble.

Agreed, but depending on my attire, to avoid those sagging pants I sometimes have to tighten the gunbelt up to the point that it becomes uncomfortable, particularly when those donuts have moved my waist away from where it used to be.

I will venture to share with others who might experience that particular irritation: use your Google, or such, to take a look at "Perry" suspenders. They are wide, strong, reasonable in price, and the straps, front and back, fasten right onto your gunbelt. No buttons or metal clips. In this "Texas warming" we are experiencing in my part of the state, I have no problem wearing them under a T-shirt, hooked onto my gunbelt on my shorts. I can loosen the gunbelt at least one notch and have transferred all the weight to be shared by two shoulders. Quite a difference.

Congrats on the walk. Throwing in a vote for the Wilderness Instructors belt. Not dressy, but comfortable and effective.

A good gun belt is well worth the money. I have Crossbreed, Fist, and Double Duty from Cabelas.

Depending on the method of carry, I switch up the belt. The Double Duty is used for the CB Supertuck holster since I ordered it a bit longer to accomadate the holster being inside the belt.

The Crossbreed and Fist are worn with different holsters OWB. Belts seem to form to the holster so I choose to wear specific holsters with the same loop distance for one belt.

The flop of a gun on you side all day long gets really annoying, especially if you find yourself having to job or pick up your step a bit for whatever reason.

I think I could put a pair to good use. To think that I'll be able to carry a real gun again!
