help with supertuck

Hello everyone,

I just got my new supertuck for my Kimber CDPII and I'm having problems. The handle of my Kimber makes mincemeat out of the skin on the right side of my body above the belt where the handle touches my skin. I'd send a picture but its not pretty.

Where do you all wear your supertucks so that the handle of you pistol does not munch up your body? Do I need a t-shirt under my shirt? Perhaps I'm wearing the supertuck in the wrong place. I've got it positioned on the right most part of my hip (at the 3:00 position where 12:00 is forward). I should probably mention that I'm a normal weight guy for my size (5'8" and 150 lbs). Help!

I wear my supertuck at 9:00 (I'm a lefty) and dont have issues. I suggest wearing an undershirt. Wife beaters work great.

Yeah, What he said!

I have been wearing wife beaters ever since I started carrying IWB. I love my Supertuck. I carry both a full size and an compact 1911 and use the same holster.

:iagree: to the wifebeaters, or for me, more comfortable, are Under Armor T-Shirts. A bit more costly, but definitely more comfortable.
After I got used to wearing it, and found the right spot to wear it, I also was able to stop wearing Tshirts under it.
I wear mine at 3:30

Once it scabs over and forms a callous it won't do that anymore. :evil2:

I had the same issue. I tried the "wife beaters", but found I didn't care for it.

I changed to smooth grips. That might not work if you have sweaty hands, but it works for me.

A "less than PC" way to describe a sleeveless undershirt. I agree that is the way to go when carring IWB.

Comes from watching Cops or other shows like that. It seems that frequently, when responding to domestic disturbance calls, police officers encounter male individuals wearing white tank top style undershirts - and not much else.

And those are the upper class. Most don't even have a shirt on.

The skin on your side will toughen up. Mine used to bother me to a rash. Now, I don't even notice.

Should have bought a Glock! They caress your skin :evil2: A set of Hogue grips and an undershirt will do the trick.

I just picked up my Glock 23 Gen 4 today (YES! They have arrived!), and I'm sitting here at home with my Crossbreed Supertuck (and gun belt) and my G23 snugly wrapped in Kydex love. I can assure you that the new grip on the Gen4 G23 is NOT as smooth as a Gen3 G23. You will likely want to wear a T-shirt. As others have recommended, you probably want to opt for a "compression style" tshirt so it won't interfere with a draw stroke.

Thanks everyone ... now that the mystery of the "wife beater" is solved, I know what to try next. I'll give the Hogue grips a try too. I sure appreciate the help.
