Where can I shoot a 50 BMG cal?

Does anyone have a gun range that allows people to shoot 50 bmg rounds?

Yep, in Crosby. Right now, just at 200 yards.

By the end of the year, our 400 yd / 600 yd ranges should be ready.

I believe Bayou Rifles will at their Julliff range. They have a 1000 yard range there, but you may have to get a waiver.


EDITED: Nope, they specifically prohibit 50 BMP.

Yeah, it was a bummer when I found out at orientation last year.

There is a .50 cal range north of Aubrey. I am sorry, I don't know much more than that.

I'm pretty darn sure American Shooting Center allows .50 and has range out to 600yds I believe. It just happens to be on the other side of town from you though.

ASC does, I called when we got our Barrett. They take the first shot though to ensure it is on the paper for safety reasons. There is a range on 288 but it is private like PSC.

OK at Abilene Gun Club Range....they got a little tecked off last time the guy shot the gong to bits though.
200 yards as far as we go though...

Not really in your area (just west of DFW) but...Tac Pro Shooting Center allows them. 1000 yard range. I've never been, but I hear good things.

Best of the West shooting range in Liberty Hill allows it, I believe. They have 1000 yards, 750, 500, 300, and shorter distance ranges.

There is nothing in the rules that says 50bmg is banned.


I shot on the 1000 yard line on LaRue's range day last weekend and it was a blast! (I shot the OBR Heavy - 7.62)

I've seen them being shot at the clear creek gun range. It's not too far from seabrook either.

Great range if you are in the neighborhood.
