CHL Legal Questions

1. My CCL plastic arrived several months ago. While buying a gun today the dealer pointed out the my plastic has a misspelling on my address - actually it has a "S" for south, when it should have a "W" for west. Is this somethign to ignore? If not, is the DPS likely to ask me to surrender my plastic while they make a new one?

2. While at Fed Ex today I notice they have a sign that says "No Guns Allowed" The letters are the correct size but it's only in English and it's not the correct wording. The text is inside a red circle with slash. Is this a legal 30.06 sign? If not, would you ignore it or honor it?

I don't have experience with the first question you asked, although from a personal stand point I would feel better if the info on the CHL was 100%.

Re: the second question, that sign is not valid for keeping out CHLs. Here is more info about signs:

Hope that helps.

#1 - Personally I wouldn't worry about it, but if you were to submit a change of address to fix it, you keep the old license while the new one is being created. I can't see having the wrong directional abbreviation on the street causing the license to be invalid. It's not like they got your NAME wrong.

#2 - You are not legally required to follow the Fedex sign because it does not meet the criteria set out in PC 30.06. Personally, I would not honor it becasue I don't care whether they want me to carry a gun or not, I'm going to.
