This is interesting.
Arizona law allows anyone to carry a gun in public if it’s in full view, making it what’s known as an open-carry state. Until recently, gun store owners say, it was common to see people carrying weapons in grocery stores or coffee shops. That’s less true today, because last year that state passed a law allowing individuals to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.
Apparently, given a choice, more people will conceal than open carry - at least in Arizona.

Small excerpt from above link/article
“Whenever there is a huge event, especially when it’s close to home, people do tend to run out and buy something to protect their family,” said Don Gallardo, a manager at Arizona Shooter’s World in Phoenix, who said that the number of people signing up for the store’s concealed weapons class doubled over the weekend.

If given the choice...in public, I'd prefer to conceal. Too many folks would freak out, methinks, if I open carried.

I think this would be true in Texas also. I know I would prefer to carry concealed, even if Texas had open carry.

Yep.
Too many sheeple would freak out if I walked around open-carrying. I just don't need all that.
I can get to my firearm darn quick concealed anyways.

I prefer to keep the element of surprise on my side. Still, it would be nice to have the option in a more perfect world. Unfortunately, for now, I think it would cause a lot of needless hand wringing by the sheep. The Costco tragedy was enough to convince me of the power of a sheep with a gun phobia and an inflated ego thirsting for power.
I noticed in the article the Brady Bunch spokesperson was quick to put out the idea more gun control laws would have stopped this guy. Sheesh!

It would be nice to break the public of large of the thought process that citizens + guns = bad.
More citizens openly carrying firearms would be a-ok in my book. There are times where I'm just running to the gas station or something that I'd rather OC than CC.

I played poker once, the guy teaching me said "Never show your hole card"
There might be occasions though, like at my family reunion with my cousin the DPS Trooper, that I might like to not be restricted to concealed carry and have to go into a bathroom with my cousin ... just kinda looks weird to others inviting him ... and he realized that ... so he resisted
arrestroom

I own several Glocks one of which is a G19....I wonder if The CNN Situation Room show(last night) with The Gafferty File helped out with sales.
Although Mr. Gafferty gave false info.He said the G19 had a standard magazine that held 10 rounds(actually 15)...the shooter had 30 rd mag.He was wanting to
know how people felt about banning high capacity magazines.Sales on high capacity mags are probably going good to i bet.

Actually depending on where you are a Glock 19 will come with 10 round magazines. California and New York are two examples I can think of. My new Glock 19 was purchased a few days prior to this madness came with 3 15 round magazines as our state doesn't subscribe to the magazine capacity madness.
