Well it's in the mail and on its way to Austin! I figure around January 20th maybe if all goes well based on current application times. Hope I did not jinx myself.

Naw, it was concealed the entire ride of maybe 5-10 minutes travel time. I was using a IWB with a .40 S&W tucked in with large Tee- Shirt. I was just shocked at myself for not taking notice I was carrying when I left my property. I've just got used to it being there when it should not have been. Again concealed during my practice to get used to it while at home. I wear it from the time I get home from work till be and all day on the weekends while home.

Well, it finally got to me. I had to email mail them and find out what was going on. There site still says application mailed. I payed online and got my pin with my application. As you can seen below my history shows they got may application on Nov 3rd. So anyway, there reply to my request since it still indicated application mailed, said;

"If it hasn't been about 6 weeks, then it's not going to be in our system yet and your status will not change. "

It sounds to me like a canned response so they can brush me off. So, if I count my days I'm right at 38 days. or at the end of this week 6 weeks into my waiting. I thought for sure it would have updated by now.

Has anyone else gotten this response?

How long did it take for the site to update to processing application when you had payed online?

I sent off another email query on my application status cause a few of you on here are getting your licenses after DPS got your application on or around the end of October link mine. Well here is there latest response.

Your application has not been entered into the system. It is likely going through the required pre-screening process. When a completed application is entered you will be sent a confirmation letter with your PIN number. Thank you for your continued patience.

Now mind you I spoke to one of the ladies there on Wed. and she initially indicated that I was not in the system then changed her statement to they must be entering it now cause I see your picture and read back my address to me over the phone.

So, there you have it two very diffrent bits of information and I'm 41 days into my waiting period with the site showing packet mailed to applicant. I'm toast....

Translation: "Your application is somewhere in that stack of mail bags we haven't emptied yet."

Well I called yesterday and again asked what was the status of my application and they indicated that they were waiting for the background checks to complete. This morning I checked the site and finally it indicated Processing Application!!!!!!!

Word of note to all who email. Do not assume what they respond with to be the truth. I think these folks are not the same personnel who you call and speak with. Or they just really prefer to give canned responses to email requests even if it's not true or has no bearing on your particular case. I also believe they do not read the entire email you send them either. Case in point. I emailed and said the web site still says XXXXX and there canned response was you app has not been enter into the system once entered your pin number will be mailed to you. For one I already indicated I am already checking the web site and two I payed online and there system should have refelected that.

Anyway, getting closer.... just a week or two more I would guess.

I am currently in the same boat as you were. I applied online, prepaid and got my pin. I sent all paper work etc. back in and they received it Nov. 17, and today when I checked the status it still says "packet mailed to applicant".
