New CHL holder here......
Any words of warning out there with these two particular Don Hume products?

1-1/2" Trouser Belt (B109-L 1 1/2")
Holster- INSIDE WAISTBAND CLIP-ON (OPEN TOP) (H715-M W.C.)

I know there are better quality holsters out there and better "set-ups", i.e. Milt Sparks, Comp-Tac, Crossbreed, etc., however, with my current budget and what I am looking for feature-wise, this is what I am looking at purchasing. I just wanted to see if anyone had any horror stories or significant failures / quality issues with these Don Hume products. Thanks.

...my first order from Don Hume was the BL-109 1 1/2" in black and a 10" flat sap...quick shipping, excellent quality...flawless service but the belt's way too small... now...of course, that was 1971...so things MAY be different...like the price!!! They've always been big on customer service...my last order was a clip holster IWB cor a GP100/44Spl Taurus 445...still the same...I've got several 715 and 721...great quality...recommended both models numerous times with great reports from buyers...(I wore the belt for almost 20 years)

I like everything about my Don Hume J.I.T. holsters.

I carry a couple of different 715 holsters at times. Good holsters and comfortable once broken in. The only issue I have had is with my two Cabela's Double Duty belts. The clip doesn't want to completely surround it and periodically the holster will get loose and ride up. No problem on other belts. Love the belts BTW. Awesome belt for the money and you can catch them on sale at times for $25.

...I'm partial to the Wilderness Products Instructor's belt...comfortable and strong...no sagging or rolling...not a fashion statement but easy to adjust after meals or other times (velcro)...I waited a coupla years to try one...won't buy anything else now...

I have a collection of Don Hume holsters and I love them all.

I've had a few Don Hume holsters over the years. Not my personal favorite, but they are well built, durable, and do the job very well. Some of their designs are a little dated (compared to modern leather/kydex combo products) but the price is very nice when compared to more expensive leather products.

Don't hesitate to give them a try.

I have a couple of Don Hume holsters, and everything I have from them is well-made. I haven't used them that hard though--I tend to buy their products for guns I don't plan on carrying (I have a holster for every handgun I own, whether I plan to carry it or not).

I don't have the holster you listed but do have Don Hume JIT holsters for most of my guns. They are my favorite holsters. I would echo the Wilderness belt as a great belt however.

Well,call it a case of bad luck or the exception, but I've had two failures with Don Hume holsters -- both in similar circumstances.

The first happened about two and a half years ago carrying a PT1911AR (RH - IWB). It was hot (August) and I was sweating pretty bad. The DH apparently absorbed so much perspiration that it lost shape and failed. While I was getting back into my Sequoia my weapon slipped out hitting the seat and door panel on its way to the ground. Not a happy day. I replaced it with a SuperTuck.

The second DH failure was under similar circumstance (hot, sweaty) but carrying my Glock 36. Same failure, only this time the weapon simply oozed out into the seat. Replaced it with a TX Tuck from Rockin bull Leatherworks and haven't had a problem since.

I'll never own another Don Hume, but that's just me.

I ordered a Don Hum H715-M W.C. (http://www.donhume.com/index.php?main_p ... ucts_id=35" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) for my XD9sc, but not for everyday carry.
When I am at work, I am not allowed to carry, so when I get back to my car, I do not have a holster (easy to put on while in the vehicle), so this would be used only for after work to home for quick in/out of the belt.
It hasn't arrived yet, but I have heard 99% good stuff about Don Hume holsters, so worth a shot!

My 1st carry rig was on a small buget too.
Ruger P89 in a Don Hume PCCH. was very servicable, comfortable enough, did the job & not at all out of reach on a small buget.
