One strange piece of shooting machinery.

Hope to shoot it for the first time tomorrow, so I guess we'll see what it's all about. :headscratch

That looks like a HK G3 seni auto clone, a widely issued rifle for interior forces (like DPS in TX) of Lebanon.
G3 were good rifles chambered in 308. FAL was not bad either.

If I recall correctly, the CETME was actually the precursor to the G3. I could be wrong though, but I'm going to bed so I'm not looking it up :biggrinjester:

You are correct. I'm unsure if the CETME has the same propensity to mangle brass on ejection that the HK does.

Even my M1A tends to dent brass a bit on ejection, particularly around the case mouth.

The CETME was the Spanish precursor to the German G3. The CETME is more known to have some quality control or inconsistencies to the manufacturing process. That being said I have owned one and put many rounds through the one I had. I would mangle brass and throw it about 20ft away. The recoil is very manageable it being a bit of a hefty rifle. Mine was very accurate and a pleasure to shoot. I am a sucker for green guns so its beautiful in my book. Oh yeah...the best part about the rifle is the mags are about $3 each and plentiful. Its the ammo that adds up :cryin
