Hello,
Just transplanted from WA state to the Texas and making my way through the CHL process...
In WA you goto the police office get your prints done and fill out a card... The CHL shows up about 2 weeks later
I was on a VERY similar forum in WA and am very excited to find this...
Bear with me cause I got a lot of noob questions about Texas and the gun laws ... ranges ... Shops and shows
Nice to be here...

Welcome
Fire away with your questions, someone here will know the answer.
And since you're in Pearland area, be sure to check out PSC shooting range. I'm in Austin area, so I've only been there once for the Forum Day - but it is a fine facility.
Good luck, stay safe, and have fun.

I didn't notice your Pearland address, but PSC is a fine range.

Here we have air conditioners. No volcanoes

In Summer 80 degrees is cool.
Any questions you have, just ask.

Hey, thanks for all the welcomes...
You now answered my first question... Should I join PSC?
It looked pretty cool on the website and a lot like the range I belonged to in WA.
I'm gonna have to go out and check it out...

Absolutely! (as you see in my signature, Im there) and there are many many others.
It is a great range (outdoor, bear that in mind!) but well worth it

Considering your choice of public ranges around here, PSC is a great option.
Welcome to Pearland neighbor!

Well personally, I just got here less than a month ago and since my WA CHL is legal to carry here utilizing my WA CHL I'm gonna hold onto it until such a time as I feel it is necessary (and I have the time, money etc) to swap it for a Texas CHL.
I do however carry a copy of the unilateral proclamation that shows I am legal to carry using my WA CHL...
Is it right? I can't find anything to it's not.... But this would be the place to find out.... I'm sure someone here knows the statues and CHL law much better than I do...
So ... Proceed atnyour own free will and caution...
