What a knucklehead! When are people going to learn to stop taking pictures of that sort and sending them to folks via camera phones?!?! Time to resign buddy!

Never doubted that he did it! At least he had enough class to apologize to Andrew Breitbart and everyone else. Most Democrats don't resign over this type of scandal but Replublicans are expected to do so. I heard it explained once that Republicans try to hold the high moral and ethical ground so to not resign is hypocritical but there should be no such expectation of moral/ethical attributes from Democrats so it's no big deal. That came from a Democrat Pundit so maybe it holds true. My personal opinion is the media spends way too much time on this when we're on the road to financial ruin and joblessness keeps rising. JMHO

As long as he is exercising his First Amendment rights at no taxpayer expenses, I could care less. Not something I would do but it he has his a right to do it as long as the recipients are not complaining. Prior to 24 hour news coverage and instant updates via the Internet, how much behavior--like this--took place? However, he better leave my Second Amendment rights alone!

Any of the politicos who are in front of a camera day in and day out are narcissist. I think its the age we live in of wall to wall 24/7 media that spawns these hopelessly faulty politicians. America deserves better... There is no way the problems facing us in the world can be solved by these self serving people.

This guy is a first class idiot. But so is John Ensign, John Edwards, Mark Foley and Gary Condit just to name a few. Lying and infidelity seem to be one of the few things that are by-partison in Washington. This guy is not special, just another stop in the long line of losers before him.

Somebody did; in the comments section of the article TAM linked to. Their argument wasn't very well thought out, though.

For me to be disappointed by this would mean I'd have to hold respect for politicians in the first place.

I don't see that this makes him unfit to hold office. That's for the voters in his district to decide next year. If he's reelected, they get the representation they deserve.

The guy is in good shape... but he needs a pan of lasagne before he comes to TX and the wind blows him over.

The difference, of course, is how the media treats the lying losers, depending on the letter after their name. Remember, this case first broke as "hacker leaks pictures of Weiner through his twitter" And it was reported as a "theft" right up until he finally broke down and admitted his scumminess.

If he had that R after his name, initial story would have broken along the lines of "Weiner took pictures of his privates, in front of children, and was computer illiterate enough to broadcast them to the world, is now lying about hackers to cover his sorry rear and oh yeah did we mention the guy is probably a pedophile?"
