Glock 26 or Springfield XD-9 subcompact or ?

I need a subcompact 9mm like the Glock 26 but with an accessory rail. Is there another manufacturer/model besides the Springfield XD-9 subcompact? Which is best? The XD-9 or something else? I took a look at the Glock 26 accessory rail mod and it is not acceptable because it extends past the front of the gun. That mod will make the gun too big to fit in my cargo pant pocket or pajama pocket.
Thanks,

but glocks aren't american guns so you shouldn't be considering it anyway, right?
Everyone I know with a subcompact XD has been happy with it.

I have been quite pleased with the S&W M&P 9C. You might consider it as well as the Ruger SR9C. I have heard few complaints from owners of either.
Having said that, I don't really consider any of these pocket guns, but your pockets may be bigger than mine. I don't know what you want to hang off the accessory rail, but most likely whatever you hang there won't make the gun smaller/easier to pocket.

XDs aren't American either.. they're Croatian. They're imported into the US and sold by Springfield under the Springfield Armory brand.
Personally, my first choice in a compact would be the S&W M&P 9c. It has the rail... and is made in the US by a US company if that's important to you. Second would be the Glock 26.

HK P2000 SK has a rail, although it is not a picatinny.

It was a joke because the OP had recommended to someone else to only buy from american companies.

But I didn't know the XDs were Croatian, so thanks for the info.

The Sig P250 compact has a rail.
So does the Beretta PX4 Compact and Sub-Compact.

I love my XD9 Subcompact. Great gun to shoot, fun, easy, and consistent.

YUP, over 3000 rounds down my XD9SC. No hiccups, no failures, works everytime, easy to carry and dependable.

I have both the Glock 26 and Xdsc. I carry the Xd more because I find it easier to do a quick reload due to the slightly longer grip. Plus it carries 3 more rounds.

I like the Glock I carried my Glock 26 with 21 rounds in it (17 mag, +3 extension, 1 chambered) and the internal laser and advantage tactical sights and ported extended barrel.
You can also get lasers in rear sights ... but If you are looking to mount a flashlight, yep, pretty much need a rail or duct tape and a plan.
Front sight is harder to change on an XD, less options on using 10/13/15/17/20 round Glock mags but ...
Now for the last week, I carry an XD45 (with thumb safety and grip safety) ... Advantage Tactical rear sight (can't get the front one off) Extended ported barrel, 13 rounds ...
between a 9mm XD and a 9mm Glock ... just depends if you want the grip safety or more aftermarket options/capacity options.
I held the S&W and others ... they fit my hand better than the "old Glock"
I'd say test fire both see what you are more accurate with, which fits your hand, what "belongs" there .... then, you'll know.

I've never been a fan of Glocks. No good reason, they've just never done it for me. I have an XD9 compact and an SR9C, both are great guns, but I much prefer the Ruger. I'm also considering getting an M&P compact to complement the Ruger for daily carry. I can say between the Ruger and Springfield, I can group shots MUCH better with the Ruger, even though it is a smaller, lighter gun. It the gun reacquires naturally for me, it may not for you.

Thanks, guys. I'm going to ask around and see if I can borrow and/or rent an XD-9 subcompact and a Smith & Wesson M & P Compact to see which one is better. If the better pistol also outshoots a Glock 26, then I'm going to get it.
I didn't know that Smith & Wesson makes a subcompact that's made in the USA. Thanks again.

This. My fiancées pistol is an M&P9c that I hung a TLR-3 light on. Great little package that she controls easily.
