Has anyone tried one of these tools? It looks like just the thing I need to clean the BCG on my AR. The carbon buildup on the bolt can be a bear to scrape off.
This tool cleans the bolt, Firing pin, and the carrier. It also has a 1/4" bit driver cut into it. And yes, it is made in the USA!

I just ordered one from Brownells. I will review it after I use it!

I have one and it works quite well. I picked one up at a gun show with some other armorer tools and vice blocks for pretty cheap if I remember.

Thanks. I'll have to look into getting one. Removing carbon from the bolt without a purpose designed tool is not my idea of fun.

I've also got one. It's cut my bolt/carrier cleaning time by at least 75%. It used to take me 20-30 minutes to get all the carbon off the bolt and carrier. Since I added the CAT to my process it takes 5-7 minutes.

I've never seen the G&G tool, but for the same money you can have the CAT M-4, which can also clean the bolt carrier. The G&G tool only cleans the bolt tail.

That is an interesting looking tool. I was given a Leatherman MUT® tool for AR15s for Father's Day by my son, and it has a replaceable bronze bolt carbon scraper on it. Of course, it has a lot of other features too. On the other hand, the CAT M-4 tool costs 1/5 of the price of the Leatherman tool. That's a pretty good price for a tool designed for that specific purpose.

I should have mine sometime this week, and just in time! I should have plenty of carbon scraping to do.

I went out very early this morning to my shooting spot, and put 300 rounds through my AR.
I even got to shoot a few tracer rounds in celebration of Independence Day!

It looks like it's made from stainless steel. Does that cause any extra wear?

I don't think I can even look at my tracers without starting a fire here. Maybe one day I'll get to use them...

Got the tool in the mail yesterday!
Just popped the bolt out of my AR and spent about 3 minutes on it, and removed all of the stubborn carbon!

The inside of the tool is shaped perfectly to accept the bolt and has sharp edges that chip the carbon off like butter!

I took this pic showing the carbon that came off of it. this was after just 300 rounds as it was clean before that.

I would highly recommend this tool to anyone who owns an AR platform weapon.
