m&p slide question

I have been away for a while but here I am again. For you m&p owners. When I shoot my m&p, I can feel the slide as it moves when I fire. Sort of a grindy feeling. The rails are clean and no wear marks. Does anyone else notice this? I don't get this with any of my other pistols.

I have not noticed a "grindy" feeling when I fire my M&P .45.

Me neither. Could it be the recoil spring?

I also can't report a grindy feeling with any of the four in our household.
Do you feel any roughness when manually cycling the slide??

Neither one of my two has any grindy feeling either.
I agree, possibly recoil spring?

I have two M & Ps and if I shoot them semi-dry, sometimes I get that response. I use a generous amount of M-Pro 7 when I plan to shoot a lot. Silky smooth...

I believe in lubrication - - - S&W's Lubrication instructions leave the gun too dry. If you are going to shoot the gun and not carry it oil is your friend. I put a few drops of oil on the guiderod, on barrel hood, on the muzzle of the barrel, and generously lube the rails. If it's shiny from the parts rubbing it needs lubrication. It doesn't need to be dripping oil just wet not dry.

I have an assortment of M&Ps and have never experienced that. I do follow the S&W lube recommendations but I use Royal Purple synthetic oil on my shooting irons (plastics). The stuff works extremely well. I get the oil for free at trade shows. If you shoot at PSC, I can give you a 2 oz bottle to try. It will last a very long time and your M&P will be very happy. I will be at the IDPA match this month and will be squaded with JP

I thought I had it lubed up enough. I will try more and see what happens. I don't seem to notice the grinding when I rack the slide. Thanks for the Royal Purple offer, but I can borrow some from a friend. Thanks for the help guys.
