Ed Brown new style ejector found in Special Forces Carry

The owner posted some pics on another Forum of his SFC that he received in the last Month or so that had to go back to Brown for some work.
The work did not have anything to do with the ejector.
When he posted the pictures, I noticed a strange looking ejector that is wider at the front and narrower at the rear. I asked him to post a shot of the rear of the slide in battery and you can see that the FPS is relieved enough on the left side for the wider part of this new ejector to pass thru during assembly/dis-assembly.
I have never seen an ejector like this before and I have sent an email to EB to find out when they started shipping pistols with this ejector. I think the idea is to have more metal at the business end than a standard 1911 ejector.
My 2008 Kobra Carry and my Dec 2011 Special Forces have standard 1911 ejectors and no relief cuts in the FPS.
Thought ya'll might me interested to know about this.

Has this ever been an issue that needed addressing before?

Not to my knowledge but I hope to know more when Brown answers my email.

My August 2011 Kobra Carry has the same ejector and firing pin stop.

Thanks Bill
But........they are not my pictures......
They are the owners pictures that were posted in a thread on another Forum describing his EB Customer Service satisfaction on several problems that were corrected by EB. Really fluke problems too that you NEVER see from EB. But none of the problems had anything to do with the ejector.
The ejector you see in the pictures was in his gun when he received it new and remained there when he got it back from service. It's not something they worked on during the service. It is what came in the gun from the factory.

Thanks DocV for that info. It may help tracking down when they started doing this to the commander sized guns.

Received answer from Ed Brown this morning.......
We found long ago it improves ejection on some Commander length pistols, and made it a standard modification on all Ed Brown commanders roughly 3 years ago. It’s another one of the many benefits you get with an fully engineered Ed Brown 1911.
Looks like I missed getting the good stuff on my 2008 Kobra Carry by about a year!

Improves ejection how, I wonder?
It throws the cases far enough away that CSI can't find them.

.........a must have for states like California.
