New pocket gun for those days I don't feel like strapping on the 1911: Ruger LCR357
Gives a whole new meaning to flash-bang! That's plain ol' winchester white box 357's doing that.

Doesn't look like there is any substantial muzzle jump.

If the bullet doesn't get them, you've always got the secondary effect of setting them on fire!

Cool pic, BTW.

Yeah, there's a bit of muzzle rise and a good flash on the first round. That pic is a video screen cap. I'll see if I can get a YouTube vid segment showing those five rounds.

Yeah, I seem to be holding it pretty good.

Didn't know there was a flame thrower option on the LCR357.

I don't think it is "Optional"

I wonder why there is such a visible flash on the first shot but not on the subsequent shots.

When I got married in 1982, I changed jobs and started traveling a lot. I kept a 4" Smith Model 66 loaded with .357 magnum hollow points in a quick access location for my wife to get to it if needed. She was more comfortable with a revolver than a semi-auto, so during a stress situation would be able to use it more effectively.
What I always told her was if anyone came in the house at night, lock the bedroom door, grab the gun, and call 911. If they came through the door, empty all 6 rounds. If she didn't hit them and they were able to escape, we would just have the police check all the optometrists to find the recently blinded guy who looks like he got sunburned.

3 full cylinders worth of 357 did this (i.e. first of every 5 shots of 15).
My only guess would be that the barrel is cold for the first round so some powder escapes prior to burning. After the first round, there's enough heat/low moisture in the barrel to allow the powder to burn better? I dunno.
