So I post a serious thread about some hackers on gun forums. Mine is locked. Why???

Because the topic is already running here:
http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=53549" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Mods will lock threads that duplicate a topic that is already running. Yours was one of three going on the topic, so the last two threads started were locked. I'm not a Mod, but it appears that's the case.

Yep. Normally when its locked up they'll post "Thread already running here...(with a link). "
You must have caught them on a busy day when they didn't have time to explain.

That's right, OldGringo. Nobody likes you, and your mother dresses you funny.
Jedwil - sorry for the lack of explanation. If someone has already reported a duplicate topic, we might not say anything else, and just lock the thread. It's just a housekeeping thing. We like to keep from having duplicate threads running on the same topic. Nothing against you. We try to put that disclaimer in there, but sometimes get busy.

If you haven't had a thread locked or deleted, then you haven't lived.
