Glock is well over 150,000 units on backorder as well, even with opening a plant in the US (yes, there are now Glocks that are 100% made in the US). If you plan on ordering a new gun, be prepared to be patient.

That is not surprising at all honestly. I still don't think it is too hard to find most modern firearms. You may not be able to buy them from the store you want to, but with the interwebs/telphone at our disposal anything can be had in most cases with enough persistence.

Question: So will those US made glocks not have "Austria" carved onto the slide anymore?

I suspect it is problem with all manufacturers. I was exploring ordering a SIG this week and just heard this morning it was going to be at least 19 weeks until shipping.

I think you're right. Looking at Palmetto States website to finish my AR build, they're sold out of a lot of kits/uppers.

Sigh. The panic has begun early this year it seems.

Adding manufacturing equipment and people takes a lot of time. I'm pretty sure the operations managers at the plants have already researched those options

I'm trying to get some LPKs, stay tuned! My wholesaler at PSA just told me a couple hours ago they're completely out now.

Glock's US office has been in Smyrna, Cobb County, GA (suburban Atlanta, GA) for years.
The new plant will also be in Smyrna. 4 building on 18 acres sounds like a pretty large $ investment.

As an aside, I was speaking with one of the gun counter guys at Academy and he said that they haven't had as many
handguns on sale due to the inability to get a large number of handguns to support a sale.

If Ruger has more than a million orders alone for the first quarter, how many guns total order from other mfgs i wonder? Look for ammo to get in short supply possibly if this is the trend. From what I have been reading custom gunmakers build time has drastically increased with some of them not taking orders at this time.

I am glad I bought my new gun and ordered the holster. I guess I better get some ammo.

I bought a Px4 Storm SC 9 mm and ordered a Kramer Leather MSP holster about a month ago.

I already received my extra magazines and loader from Beretta and a belt mag pouch from Galco.

That can also cause quality control issues if they staff up too fast. We don't need that.
