I'll be driving through VA tomorrow and I'm looking for a 2nd opinion on carrying while doing so. The way I read VA law is that I can have my weapon in the vehicle with me but it has to be in a contaniner and not on my person. Agree or disagree??
Thanks.

If you have a CHL, then no problem carrying on your body

...Virginia recognizes Texas' CHL...HANDGUNS ONLY...long guns must be in gun cases in pass. compartment in gun cases or in trunk

This is probably moot now for the OP, but in VA you can open carry no CHL needed. However if you have a CHL from TX you are golden no worries at all.

*handguns is what I am primarily thinking of, but I did see a person OC a most serious looking gun once.....he would have been well set if the Mongolian hordes invaded (no offense to Mongols).
