SUB2000 at the range

Took the new toy to the range yesterday. I was hoping Bexar Community would let me shoot it on the pistol range[1] but they "preferred" that I use the 25yd rifle range so I did. First lesson learned: Don't forget the Upula loader. I only have the one 10-round Glock mag that came with it. Second lesson learned: Don't forget the sight adjustment tool that came with it. Oh well.
I've seen a buffer cushion for sell for this that's supposed to ease the kick, especially in .40 cal but my response is "what kick?"[2]. I zipped through the first mag and it didn't bother me at all.
In all I fired 6 mags. The one thing I haven't gotten used to yet is that the bolt doesn't lock open on an empty mag. Just hear the click on an empty chamber. At 25yds, iron (plastic?) sights, and me, all rounds from each mag (even standing) were within a 12" circle. Out of the box it shot way low and left so I'm going to have to go back and work on the sight adjustment.
I had two failures to load on the first mag. First FTL was the third or fourth round and the round just did not chamber and got compressed. Second was a couple rounds later and stove piped. But after those everything worked like clockwork.
I like this thing. Simple, basic, easy. Kinda reminds me of the old M3 grease gun. Wasn't the best weapon in the world but it was dependable and did what it was supposed to do.
[1]Bexar Community is like shooting in your back yard. A row of tables, a dozen stands that hold silhouette targets that you can place anywhere, berm is about 25yds, and you're expected to act like an adult as there are no RSOs.
[2]Major downside for this cushion is that with it in place you cannot pull the bolt back far enough to lock it open.
