Anyone know of any place in the DFW area that has the M&P Shield 9mm in stock?

I sure would like to purchase one.

Your in DFW, but the Academy here in Angelo had one for sale last night when I was poking around.

it's a hot item! arlington academy says when they get four in, they are gone within four hours! have you checked CTD in fort worth?

I called CTD yesterday and they were all sold out.

I have checked in North Texas and they sell out the day they go on the shelf. It is a hot item now.

Hold off for a month... check the used guns and you will find them for a cheaper price.

I will keep looking. Wish me luck on my quest.

I picked one up on Tuesday at the Academy in Temple. It was the only one they had in stock. I was traveling north on I-35 with a friend, so we stopped in Waco at the Praco gun shop. They had three in stock, but two were spoken for by Waco PD officers. My friend bought the other one.

We took ours to the range yesterday and put 100+ rounds through each of them. No problems. I like the gun.

If you are willing to drive that far, you might call Praco to see if they have any. They seem to be getting them in on a regular basis.

I found a place that has one but it is the 40. I was really wanting to get a 9, they are also asking full retail for it.

Should I or shouldn't I go with the 40?

My other guns I have are all 9mm.

What to do?

Unless you just want the caliber and are looking to buy more in that round, stick with the 9mm. I only had 2 guns in .40 and one was loaned to my Father-In-Law, so I sold the other. .40 is more expensive, and felt there was no reason to buy .40 ammo for that one gun. Sold it and now have one less caliber to keep up with.

Thanks for the advice. I really don't want to keep up with another caliber but I am not sure if I have the patience to wait for a 9mm to become available.

We were at Cabela's(Fort Worth) sunday and asked about it. Gun counter guy said they had about 25 a few days before and had sold all of them. He said they'd be getting more in, but they would probably fly off the shelves just as quickly.

Now I just need to find a reason to leave work early to buy it before they close.
