I am getting ready to take a quick trip through Oklahoma and Arkansas and back. I know they honor our CHL. Any particular real disfferences in how I carry in car, hotel room or person? I have not read all of each states laws yet. Just making a one day trip up and next day back to pick up a motorcycle. thanks.

I don't know why this hasn't gained any traction on this forum, but the single most
useful tool I've found for traveling with a concealed handgun is:
http://apps.carryconcealed.net/packngo/. Anybody who carries concealed and travels ought to have this one bookmarked. It not only shows you state reciprocities, but it allows you to select multiple states from a map and then gives you useful information about each of those states.
And in the OP's case specifically:

TAM, thanks a bunch. I am tied up in heavy meeting for work and after work and leave in two days and needed a pointer to the right site to answer my question. Looked up different sites but the searching was taking too long. this one was PERFECT!. Seems I am good to go on my person, getting out to grab a meal, my motel etc and back home. Just what I needed.

Federal Firearms Transportation Statute....
That was mentioned at the bottom of the link you posted. It makes me wonder how the folks in NY could be charged with having a firearm they're declaring at the Airport since they're transporting it home.

...the answer lies somewhere in the word "NY"...they don't care what anyone says...they just want to lock up good citizens to show who's boss...

Be wary of stopping at any of the tribal lands in OK with a weapon on you. The reservations have laws differing from the state.

... Arkansas requires that you notify a law enforcement officer "upon contact" that you are carrying a weapon and Oklahoma requires that you , when stopped by law enforcement, notify the officer that you are carrying a concealed handgun with a recognized permit..

You are welcome, both you and Songbird. I am sure that you can get more detailed information by visiting the websites of the various state issuing agencies, but at the practical level, the packngo app is really useful. I particularly like how you can simply click on all the states on the map that you'll be traveling through and it returns the list of what you need to know for just those states.

You're also supposed to inform individuals that you're carrying before entering their home. The first time I stopped at my InLaw's front door and said "I'm carrying a Concealed weapon, I'm supposed to inform you of that fact and get your permission before I enter" My FIL said "Of course you are, Get in here and close the door."

I went to the U of A in ark, glad I don't travel to often there. They have a pretty long list of laws to keep in mind.
