Senate Democrats have offered an amendment to the pending cybersecurity bill that would ban possession of magazines past a maximum 10-round capacity:
I'm sure it won't pass, but you have gotta watch these guys.

"The amendment was sponsored by Democratic Sens. Frank Lautenberg (N.J.), Barbara Boxer (Calif.), Jack Reed (R.I.), Bob Menendez (N.J.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Schumer and Dianne Feinstein (Calif.). S.A. 2575 would make it illegal to transfer or possess large capacity feeding devices such as gun magazines, belts, feed stripes and drums of more than 10 rounds of ammunition with the exception of .22 caliber rim fire ammunition."

I don't have any first hand information, but I can't imagine we'd miss this golden opportunity. We'll probably send flyers in key states.

Schumer said,
Maybe we could come together on guns if each side gave some,” Schumer said.
Um, what would the oher side "give", would they give up an idea of a total ban? Sorry, that is not giving, it's just "delaying". :banghead:

I wonder how many of these amendment sponsors have interests in Ammunition/Magazine manufacturers...I can imagine the short-term gain in revenue they would reap.

So what are some moderate reforms that President Obama could get behind? Here are three bills introduced recently in Congress that would easily fall into the category of "common sense"

Reinstating the Assault Weapons Ban
...
Banning high-capacity magazines (you just gotta read this)
....
Regulate Sniper Rifles

I've read the Constitution a couple times. I know it's not recently, but I don't recall duck hunting being mentioned in there anywhere, especially as it pertains to the Second Amendment.
Very few individuals actually think that the constitution and BOR are relevant in today's America.

Here are the opening sentences of that article:
America's gun laws are truly outrageous: in Colorado they allowed James Holmes to stockpile several weapons in a short period of time, including an AR-15 assault rifle with a high-capacity magazine, without ever registering the purchases with authorities. On the federal level, as we described yesterday, there are efforts underway to put guns into the hands of veterans with mental incapabilities, people on terror watch lists, and to weaken the federal bureau that enforces many gun laws.
I will agree with him on one thing: the laws ARE outrageous. There are far too many of them, and they all violate the 2nd Amendment. I don't agree with a single thing he says, otherwise, because he's an ill-informed idiot.

Maybe so, but have they never heard of "skeet" or "trap"? Heck, those are even in the Summer Olympics Games along with "pistol", "rapid fire pistol", "rifle prone", and "rifle three position".

I can go through 400 "rounds*" in one morning, yet the idiots actually think limiting my skeet and trap will keep people safer.

(*I prefer to call them shells, a round is 25 clays. :headscratch)
