Going to daughters' graduation for her masters at Texas A&M. Parking in public lot on campus I suspect. NOT carrying into the arena, but leaving "trusty" in the car locked up. that is good I correct?

Perfectly ok by State law and University rules (1.3 in the linked weapons policy).

Yup and as I understood it. Will be there for daughter walking stage for her masters. Got her bull at "that other school" Texas University but she did not walk the stage or get her ring. Now walking stage for masters at A&M and getting her ring. So a big deal for this Class of '74 graduate. Looking forward to it.

Congrats to your daughter from an Aggie class of '93.

You should be fine with it in the car. That is where mine stays when we go down to tailgate and attend the games.

Yep!

Congrats on your daughters graduation.

I had a rifle and pistol locked up in my car for the 4 years I lived on campus. Was never an issue. :thumbs2:

Funny thing, at the TTUHSC campus in Lubbock, there is a 30.06 notice at one of the entrances to the parking lot. At the other side of the lot, there is a 30.06 notice actually posted on a city street that runs through campus :confused5 . I carry right on through and leave it secured in the vehicle. In my case, aside from the parking lot laws, the campus' posting should not be legally binding as it is government property (state university).

I started work at A&M Galveston last month and happened to be in College Station today. All I can say is I felt very "naked" without my gun on my person when the alert came in about the active shooter while I was "on the premesis" in a meeting.

Need that campus carry to pass this session, and it needs to apply to faculty/staff as well as students.

If you are walking through campus but not entering any buildings, can one carry? Sorry for the simple question but it's never come up for me before.
