still in an apartment so just looking for something to condense and keep my firearms safe in one place. already order a gun vault for my bed side pistol I leave at home for my wife. On sale at Midway for around 70.00 btw they retail for around 108? Walmart sells Stack-On gun lockers. Doesnt say anything about being able to bolt to anything though, studs in the wall etc.. This is more for a safety/annoyance to possible thieves. I really don't own anything (yet) to justify an expensive safe. Not to demeanor what I do have just saying 2 bolt guns 2 break over shotguns and 2 pistols that barely equal (if at at all) 2k isn't something I intend to brag about.

I may just go with some trigger locks, but I am clearing out a section and my wife was the one that made the suggestion.

Stack-On lockers do have holes for wall/floor mounting, so you're good there.

While it may not be the best, anything that will slow down a thief is a good idea. That is why it is a good idea not to make it obvious or tell anyone that you have guns in your apartment. That includes your landlord, family, friends and forum members. Loose lips sink ships.

I feel ya on telling people. Family members though? Hmm guess it depends on the family I suppose. I wish these stack-ons were sold in store so I could see what I'm getting. Cabellas has one in sale for 265.00

Depends on the family tree.

If you have a Harbor Freight Tools near you, they have a gun safe(Bunker Hill brand) and its about the same price as a Stack-On, but heavier steel door with locking bolts. We have a stack-on an it has been great. Now we're looking into getting that Bunker HIll one soon...need more room.

I agree with bolting it down. The peace of mind is worth losing part of the damage deposit.

I have a stack on gun locker bolted to the floor of my house. It will keep an honest man honest, but it wouldn't stop and probably won't even slow down a dedicated thief. It will keep your guns away from your kids though.

This the main reason behind it. I will look up a harbor freight. I want to say there is one about 30 minutes. hopefully they deliver!
