If not a Marxist, (I know one and he's darn proud of it) or a plain ole vanilla Socialist?

If so, will you please offer up why you think your brand of collectivism is superior to Capitalism? And please, no broad sweeping theories, but concrete examples of how it beats Capitalism.

It would be especially illuminating if you can show how Marxism or Socialism benefited your life.

Also, if you will, please give names of the countries that are flourishing under the rule of Marxism or one of it's variants.

Sorry to maybe burst your bubble. Marxism just like communism cannot work. People are individuals and the first time one has a thought about "what will benefit me", communism or Marxism is out the window.

What are you talking about? Don't you see all the hope and change, prosperity, fairy's and unicorns, that our glorious socialist leader has brought us the last 4 years. I am beyond words at how happy I am that now I have to work overseas again to afford a decent life. I wouldn't be in Brazil right now if it wasn't for the supreme leaders buddy Mr Soros! I really don't need all this money I make, I am happy a large portion of it goes to entitlement programs to support lazy, i mean, underprivileged people. I love the fact that I have to pay more for my vehicle because it isn't so economic...that money helps trees grow, and they are good for hugging! How can you not enjoy the censorship in the media, that way you don't have to hear all those dirty lies and hate speech. I am actually jumping for joy hoping that soon I can get fired so that I too may enjoy the newly extended unemployment... Maybe then I can have time to sell some drugs to supplement my income so I can put some rims on my car! Without our supreme socialist at the helm none of this would be possible.....LMAO! I really wish someone would answer this seriously because I don't know how they would argue their point.

Though I understand the point of the exercise that the OP posted, I seriously doubt even those that believe such things are willing to admit it here on this forum. Those members that support the current administration won't even admit that they said any words to the effect of this administration not wanting to take guns way from law-abiding citizens. They certainly aren't going to discuss what many others on here believe to be the inherent weaknesses, failings, and evils of a system of collectivism and forced redistribution.

You are of course correct, but I was hoping at least one member here would have the courage to come out and admit his political status, rather than couching it in vague terms.

I know one person who escaped communism at risk of his life to come here.

He was from Slovakia. Once here, he got a fine education and immediately went to work in his chosen profession. He works now for 'gasp', corporate America. He was a colleague of mine. Some of the tales he told me about living under the rule of communism would turn your hair white.

I would like to hear from those who think enforced Marxism, communism, various brands of socialism are superior to Capitalism.

My guess is they've never known anyone who lived in a worker's paradise like my friend's Slovakia, communist Russia, Cuba or Venezuela.

I've some friends who currently live Hugo's paradise. More white hair producing tales from them, but sure, socialism is outstanding. I'd love the theorist's to live a few years there and report back if it's what they expected or not...

I have had a theory for some years now, that the old Democrat Party was shanghaied by the doper dirtball hippies back in the McGovern-McCarthy (Eugene, not Joe!) era in league with the old Communist Party USA which had been so infiltrated with undercover FBI snitches that they couldn't even hold a picnic without being ratted out. The Commies suffered from "high negatives." Very few would admit to being one, so they were anxious to solve what they deemed a PR problem. All those hippies were socialists anyway, so it was an advantageous fit. All the old line Democrats fled, the John Connally, et al crowd who claimed they didn't leave the party, the party left them. The Clinton-Fonda-Kerry wing gradually extended their hegemony to what we have today.

To my mind, what we have are the Communists formerly known as Democrats.

I don't know either as their types seem to come up with so many versions.

There's Engels brand, who co-wrote with his old buddy Karl.

There's Trotsky, Nikolai Bukharin and on and on, all regurgitating their own virulent versions of this unworkable mess.

And let's not forget Maos version, who couldn't kill enough of us own people rivaling Stalin. Though, I'm not certain who killed the most of his own people. Of course, it was for their own good...

Marxist, communists, socialists, there all pretty much the same. Supremely control the populace. Kill them when you, there great leader, decide it's in their best interest.

I think those are distinctions without differences. Why not lump them all under the tent of collectivists, those who lean towards compelled collective approaches vs those individualists who lean towards individual liberties, and freedom?

If they so believe in the rightness of their cause, surely (don't call me Shirley) have a platform here to correct us wrong headed Capitalists.

I seem to remember that Lee Harvey Oswald claimed he was a Marxist, and look what happened to him!!!
