Sometimes she's such an idiot and other times she just keeps spreading propaganda lies. This is propaganda because I think she knows full well that an AR-15 is much better suited to home defense than a longer range hunting rifle. If the hunting rifle were better then that's what the police would use. Duh.

No civilian using an AR15 is using a "Military Style Rifle" because the M-16/M4 that our military has been using for decades is based on the civilian AR-15.

The military adopted the M-16 in 1963, but the AR-15 went on sale to the public ONLY in 1959.

So the military is actually using civilian style hunting rifles in battle, not civilians have military style rifles at home.

Will she speak up to keep women out of combat, since we use M4's???

I suppose an M-14 would be a better choice for women?

The AR15 and M1 carbine are great for petite women and small statured men, so size is not the issue. The only thing that makes any sense is maybe McCarthy is one of those sexists who think cars, guns and voting machines are too complicated to women to operate.

look up the AR-10, it was actually the rifle that was introduced the the US ARMY Call for Bids and Testing by the Armalite Corperation whom Mr. Stoner worked for, the AR-10 used a 30.06 cartridge, the Arny initially rejected the weapon platform as being to cumbersome because of the cartridge at the time the ARMY was looking to reduce weight but maintain an effective weapon at 500 yards the Colt manufacturing company said they had a cartridge that had terminal ballistics that would meet or exceed the ARMY requirements, the Army told Colt and Armalite to get together and make it happen, they did and wal lah the AR-15, when it was adopted by the US Army in its select fire configuration and the nomeclature became the M-16. yes the Armalite corperation did license Colt to make the rifle because the Army decided that Armalite was too small to produce the numbers that were needed, yes in the meantime that the Army was balking the AR-10 was sold in the civilian market so was the AR-15 because Armalite didn't want to license Colt to make the weapon they wanted the Army to pay for tooling up to make the requested units in the time frameset out in contract bid calls but the Army refused and maintained that Colt had been the company awarded the contract and that since the Army had called for the design and bids that Colt was going to make the weapon, eventually it was worked out that Armalite and Mr. Stoner were paid a licensing fee by Colt. in todays money it was a mere pittance about 1/100 of a percent

Either way, I'm still surprised that it was sold to the public back in 1963ish and there weren't any liberal fits back then about a "military type" rifle in civilian hands. Or were there? I think if there were this whole mess would have been settled back then.

It will certainly be trickier for ladies to use AR's if they can't collapse the stock and get a good cheek weld.

And which professionals are differentiating rifles from AR-15s?

And which "hunters" are so knowledgeable about the tactical use of rifles in self defense situations as to offer an educated opinion?
