Mark Mattioli, father of James Mattioli, at a conference on gun violence in Hartford, CT.
Mark Mattioli wrote:We do not need complex laws. I am a big proponent of individual accountability and enforcement.
Mark Mattioli wrote:Is one more law?. . .I don't care if you named it James' law - I don't want it. I think we have more than enough [laws] on the books. We should hold people individually accountable for their actions and we should enforce laws appropriately.
May God bless this man and his family. . . along with all of the victims' families.
Video of testimony:

And SHAME on ANYBODY who would declare that they speak for all of the victims. . . putting words in this man's mouth and trying to politically capitalize on the death of his son.
Here's an article including his testimony with a misleading headline (it misrepresents his presence, wishes, and voice):

"They" are going to crucify him. God love him for holding onto his faculties in the face of what must seem like unimaginable grief.

I'll be praying that this man's voice is heard above the fray.
Not just repeated, but HEARD.
May God bless him and bring comfort to his family, and all of the others, affected by this tragedy.

The USAToday article was propoganda of the worst sort.
"Mark Mattioli, the father of James Mattioli, another Sandy Hook victim, said Connecticut gun laws need to be more strictly enforced and the nation needs a return to civility."
Unable to deny that it took place, they reduced his 15 minutes of testimony to a single sentence that was at best a distortion of his views.
Shame.

This is where hopefully the 2A community will differentiate ourselves from the MSM and the gun grabbers.
I'd love for this man to be a spokesman ala Suzanna Hupp - fighting against the irrational rush to enact new laws. But then again, if he doesn't want to become the face of a movement, I hope we never see or hear of him again beyond his testimony today. I wish him nothing but peace and anonymity if that's what he desires.
Hopefully none on our side will attempt to recruit him against his will. . . unlike the methods used by those who oppose our rights. . . the ones who immediately began using victims and families to advance an agenda that the families and victims may not even support.

I watched some of his heart wrenching testimony during lunch today. He talked about some of the violence that that kids today are exposed to on TV today. I guess that since he started to 'attack' the First Amendment the media outlets will attempt to crucify him. After the conclusion of his remarks he received a standing ovation.

Why was I not surprised that Megan Kelly gave it complete coverage, but ole Shepherd Smith gave it not one second! And yes, I believe these hosts have say on what they cover. Hopefully, he'll cover it at six.

Shep Smith is as liberal as anyone in the business although he disguises it some.

I've found him to express far more liberal views on his 2PM show than he does on his 6PM show. Not sure why, but maybe due to audience demographics. He's famous for his, "Not in my name!" over water boarding, and he led off his 2PM show last week after the gang banger shooting at the college in Houston with, "It happened again!"

I saw a video on CNN.com earlier that edited this man's words in an incredible way to distort what he was saying. . . it made him imply that new laws should be considered after the current ones are enforced. That is not what he was saying.
Look at this article:
"'Hunger Games' has America kids hooked on archery"
http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/20 ... n-archery/
. . . but wait, I thought media and movies didn't impact what kids do in real life?!?!

Sorry to hijack, but an eerie coincidence you never hear reported is that Suzanne Collins, Hunger Games author, lives in Sandy Hook, CT.

Here's another good video testimony from a Sandy Hook father.
Thankfully his two children were not injured.
