If this organization wanted to further truth in advertising,
their acronym should be changed to "MAAG - Mayors Against All Guns."

He said over the past eight years the city has spent nearly $800,000 on guns and ammunition.
Ok, so thats $100,000 a year. Sell a hundred $1000 ARs and youve already made that up

I like the idea in the comments of the gun-makers REFUSING to sell to cities who's mayors are members of MAIG. Isn't it already hard enough to fill existing demand for firearms and ammunition? Wow are these people stupid.

I also believe that most of the cities in this cockamamie organization are experiencing rising rates of violent crime, bucking the national trend.

When are they going to be honest with themselves, and proclaim what they are; Mayors Against LEGAL Guns?

Let 'em turn THEIR cities into cesspits (or worsen it, in a case like Chicago). The major firearms manufacturers will still get plenty of business from both the public and private sectors.

I hope they follow thru with this and don't buy any guns... I'm quite sure the manufacturers and dealers will have no problem selling them to law-abiding citizens.

Actually .... if you believe them, their cities would be safer if they didn't buy any more guns and ammo and disposed of all they already have to get more guns off the street ;-)

So, why haven't they already done that?

I have an idea. Why don't gun owners boycott these mayors' cities? No gun owner will visit, vacation or do business with a city that has a mayor who is a member of this group. See how they like that.

Sales boycotts to cities with MAIG by manufactures and dealers is the best way to deal with it. Gun manufacturers and dealers would have no problem selling what they refuse to deliver to these idiots.

I like the idea of boycotting the cities as well. As gun owners we need to use the strength of our enormous numbers to deal economic blows to any anti gun city, business or entity. How about getting the message out that as gun owners we will only patronize where we see evidence of support for the 2nd Amendment. We need NRA and other firearms organizations sending this message. I think I will start asking if the establishment is pro or anti gun. If anti walk I'll away.

Might even help a little with this shortage for the rest of us.

Even more reason to do it!
